Humanity's Last Stand

Part 19

Kaise went down to the lower level with his eyes locked on his mentor Seitou. Though his mentor paid no glance to him.

"What are you doing?" Kaise stepped forward "Answer me, what exactly are you doing here?"

Turning towards him, Blood covered Seitou's face. The sight quivered Kaise. However a smile beamed on his mentor's mouth.

"I heard that you came here so I thought I'd see you," Seitou raised his hands without a care in the world to the dead monks he killed.

"You killed the monks," Kaise glowered at him. He wasn't sure what to make about this but his mentor has been killing monks.

"I did however I am not here to kill you," Seitou said "Like I did to your dear dad," he smirked even more devious.

Kaise lunged and drove his sword at him but missed. The blade managed to only touch Seitou's clothes but nothing more.

Holding his hat, Seitou walked away "Like I said, I am not here to kill or fight you," he closed his eyes.

"Then what did you came here to do exactly?" Kaise shot a look at him "You came here, kill the monks and now you're leaving?"

"You don't understand do you?" Seitou said "As we speak, you're comrades in the city are in grave danger because my boss has allowed the release to the experimented humans."

"What?" Kaise could barely contain his shock. Humans being experimented on? That's insane.

Then his mentor disappeared.

Hakura clashed blades with Yamagata as the two equalled the other's skills in close range combat.

"You're good but not good enough," he shot smoke from his mouth that caused Hakura to coughed and lose vision.

Yamagata cackled and drove his sword into her solar plexus "You're mine now!" But he missed.

Due to her sharp instincts, she managed to dodge with her eyes closed. And swung a curve like slash into his chest. The lightning imbued in the strike caused him to shriek as he dropped to the ground.

Hakura stepped backwards and out into the open. Her opponent downed and seemed dead but something seems not right to her. Countless ginormous roars echoed near the direction where the civilians were evacuating at.

Quickly, she rushed to their location. The civilians screamed in panic as massive earth shattering stomps came closer to them. Hakura arrived.

Four horde giants smashed and killed the civilians. Hakura quivered and her heart beat even quicker in panic.

A survivor crawled her body through the corpses around her. Hakura knew that was Mei Ling. However the giants stomped towards her. Rushing into the scene, Hakura imbued her sword with lightning.

And in one upwards swing, she unleashed a lightning bolt. The bolt smashed the giant's head into pieces and the creature dropped to the ground.

Hakura came to Mei Ling's aid. The remaining giants edged closer to them with their sights set.

Black coloured sound wave resonated. A giant's head exploded. The other one turned its attention at Tatsuya.

Distracted, Shiki galloped towards the giant and lunged his right hand towards the gigantic back. The blow plunge through the meat. Causing the giant to scream.

Shiki roared and his arm glowed causing the giant to explode into pieces. And he dropped to his knees in exhaustion.

"We need to move now," Tatsuya said "Hakura, I know this is hard but we need to go to help the remaining civilians now."

However she remained silent and helped up Mei Ling. There was no reply as she passed him while helping Mei Ling.

"What was the point in coming to this city?" Shiki said "We only caused the people here to die like this."

"Who knows but this was bound to happen," Tatsuya said "Their leader made deals with the enemy without even considering this to happen."

Shiki let out a breath and headed towards the gate exits where the other evacuating civilians are at.

"This battle is proving to be tasteless every second," Tatsuya said as he walked behind Shiki.

While at the gate exit, the remaining civilians were nobles mixed in with some middle classes and working classes.

Hakura, Shiki and Tatsuya arrived. The gate exit sounded with complaints as the nobles bickered with the middle classes and working classes.

Hakura watched them bickered on and on "This is taking too long and we can't do anything unless those guys cooperate."

Loud cackling noises echoed nearby. Tatsuya knew that was the horde coming "I guess its either the nobles or the working classes along with the middle classes."

Shiki glowered at the nobles as one tried to punch a man. He catched the noble's arm and threw him to the ground.

The man ached as his back cracked against the ground. An older noble blasted Shiki with hate.

Shiki glared at them "Shut your mouth and answer this!" He drew his sword and pointed a the nobles "Were you the ones who sold out the middle and working classes to be your pet experiments that caused this?"

"Absurd," A noble replied

"How could you accuse us to do that?!"

These bastards really are inhuman to the core with people beneath them. This is the reason I hate this damned city. Shiki walked towards them "Then lie to your graves."

He cut down one noble and blood splattered everywhere. The other nobles panicked and even the middle-working classes panicked as well.

"Now answer me," Shiki said "How would you like it when I kill you for every person you experimented on?"

He swung his sword again but Tatsuya and Hakura catched his arm.

"That's enough Shiki," Hakura said "Don't be like them. These people would never claim responsibility but we already know the truth behind it."

Shiki sheathed his sword "The nobles stay until the middle classes and working classes all have exited the gate."

"No you can't or else the horde will come at us!" shouted a noble

Shiki ignored him.

Tatsuya and Hakura stayed back with Shiki waiting as the civilians evacuated through the narrow gate.

Akashi regrouped with them at the gate and the group told him about the casualties "I see so this is all we have right?"

As the civilians evacuated out the gate, dark clouds clogged together and swirled around like it was creating something.

"Yeah," Shiki looked away. People died and all I could do was use this cursed powers that I got.

From the distance, shadows extend as Hanzo and Hercules walked towards them.

"I guess this isn't over until they are beaten," Akashi said

"Let's end this," Shiki ready his sword.

"You're both done here," Hercules said "People died and my horde will grow substanstially every day."
