Humanity's Last Stand

Part 7

Shiki immediately opened the door towards the outside of the room and saw Tatsuya, Kaise and Hadate sitting on a red old couch and on the other couch, Andrew sat on a chair explaining to them the recent events.

"Shiki, I guess you're wounds are healed up enough for you to walk around," Andrew said "You've been in bed for 4 hours but I guess I'll break it down to you what happened."

"Alright, tell me."

"For some reason, an order to capture you or kill you was sent to every soldier in the city," Andrew said "As I know, you're suspected for breaking the electricity that led to the recent invasion."

Quietly, Shiki walked towards the window and saw soldiers patrolling the streets with eagle like eyes. I don't know why Hercules decided to do this but I won't stand around and die.

He turned towards the others "We'll split up and go to seperate locations, and beat the generals one by one," Shiki said "Someone is pulling the strings behind this and I want to know who."

"Good idea but what about the civilians?" Kaise asked "We shouldn't let them witness the battles."

"You don't have to worry. Hanzo is evacuating them into the military headquarters so no one should be in the cities," Andrew said.

"Then all that is left is that we need to fight back," Hadate said "I'll head west then and take the general over there."

Tatsuya nodded and stood up "I will go north and battle the general there," he closed his eyes.

Hastily, Shiki headed southwards whilst the others went towards the east, north and west. The generals took notice.

I wonder whether the generals will come towards us or.....He saw soldiers chasing him. I guess the generals did came like I planned.

The soldiers aimed their guns and started shooting. He slid into a blocking posture and slashed the bullets. This caused the soldiers a sudden shock and meander backwards.

"I am not here to kill you so get lost," Shiki said "I am here to fight your general," he glared and walked slowly towards them.

"You actually believe you'll beat our general?" A soldier laughed "You'll die when you meet him but you'll need to get past us!"

"Fine," Shiki dashed towards them and slashed one man's head. He swung a backhanded slash.

The blows brought two men down and their bloods wetted the streets. These casualties caused the other soldiers to scream and ran away.

Shiki stood and watched them.

A man wearing dark coat appeared and glared towards the soldiers who stopped "What are you men doing?"

"That traitor is too much!" The soldier said "We don't want to die, we have families and friends to live for!"

The man in dark coat walked past him "You men are pathetic and that's why you'll die," he sheathed his sword.

A soldier was slashed. The others panicked and tried to run away but the man in dark coat darted towards them and slashed them to death.

Shiki's skin crawled as the sight sicken his mouth. He dashed towards the general and hacked him.

The general blocked with his sword "So, you must be Shiki," he smiled "I have orders to detain you."

"I am not going anywhere with someone who murders his own men," Shiki pushed his sword harder "You're the same like you always were, Haido."

"Those men are useless, I have no need for cowards who cannot do their duties," The general pushed him away with his sword.

As Shiki landed, he watched the general close in with a thrust. He dodged but the blade scraped him in the skin.
