Once the battle subsided and the city began repairs on the damages along with mourning of the lost soldiers, Hanzo and Roy walked inside the military headquarters.
The soldiers around them saluted them. Roy ignored them but Hanzo nodded his head at them.
The military leader and the old veteran Colonel Hercules was there, speaking to his second in commands which is The blonde hair duo Lukas and Yamagata.
"Colonel Hercules, I assume you are already aware about the damage this battle cost us?" Roy asked
"I do," Hercules looked towards them "I guess it can't be helped, considering the circumstances, we'll need time to rebuild but I guess you're here to discuss about this 'traitor' that soldier Shiki mentioned."
"Yes, I am not sure why a human would help creatures destroy humans but this world can have such twisted people," Hanzo said
Hercules pondered.
"The thing that worries me is how this guy managed to sneak past our guards and shut down our electricity like that," Roy said "He has to be someone in this city who knows the guards' patrols and how we work."
"That maybe true but this is mere speculation, nothing more for now," Hercules said "The real issue is that the horde crushed our supplies and with only our backups, we won't last long so we need someone to venture outside the city."
"Then let me do it," Hanzo said "As the one in responsibility for this pointless battle, I'll do it."
Hercules shook his head "I am not going to send you because you're too valuable to this city's command, I'll instead sent the one who discovered this traitor."
"You mean Shiki?" Roy glared "We can't rely on that guy, he is technically a newbie with barely enough time to call himself a soldier."
"The boy maybe not as experienced nor reliable but he is very powerful from what I hear and I am interested to know how he will approach this," Hercules said "You two will stay here."
Roy looked away with his arms crossed and Hanzo simply nodded "I understand. I will send someone to tell him."
"Very good and tell him as well that he is free to choose his own team," Hercules walked away.
Roy scowled "Why does he get that much trust?!" He stomped the ground "He is nothing more than a boy!"
Hanzo remained silent.
Now that the city is under repairs, Shiki sat outside the local store and ate a baked bun as he watched the workers rebuilding homes and streets.
They want me to make my own team huh? Shiki ate his bun. I guess this means that they'll start sending orders to me quite alot. The wind blew his hair. I suppose everything changes huh?
He stood up and ate up his bun. Then I'll probably ask him. Shiki walked down the streets and passed through bodies piled up and burnt. Too many to bury I guess.
Later on, he arrived outside Andrew's home and knocked the door. The door opened and Hale who was Andrew's wife greeted him. He sat on the chair and talked with her and Andrew about what has happened.
"Ah so you're now going to have your own team," Andrew drank his tea "Well I would like to join up but you know I have my own squad already, sorry."
Shiki stared at his tea and looked towards Andrew "How about anyone else that may help? You have any ideas?"
"I guess there are people and really good ones but it'll be hard convincing them," Andrew stood up and walked over towards his cabinet, opening it.
He gave him dossiers on three people. Shiki had a quick look and saw their names. Tatsuya, Kaise and Hadate.
"I guess I'll start with Kaise," Shiki said "We already worked with him so he knows what's at stake here," he slipped the dossier inside his coat.
Andrew nodded, stood up and he reached out a handshake "Then good luck my young friend," he smiled.
"Thanks," Shiki shook his hand.
There, inside Kaise's house. Kaise looked through many old papers left behind by his old mentor and frowned in frustration "Where on earth did you go and why did you go?"
Then someone knocked the door. Kaise walked over towards the door and opened. Shiki stood there.
Kaise recalled him from the invasion "I remember you, but why exactly are you here?" he asked.
"I'll tell you straight up right now," Shiki eyes lowered "I want you to join me as part of my team."
Kaise averted his eyes away "Ask someone else, I am not really into being ordered around and I have no reason to join anyway," he closed the door.
Shiki stopped the door "Hold on before you refuse," he said "Don't you want to find your mentor and stop the horde?"
Hearing those words, Kaise grip on the door weakened as he looked away "I don't know how you looked into that but I don't like the idea of following anyone especially since I don't know whether you're actually going to help me find him at all."
"I won't be able to promise you anything because times can change but I'll do my best so trust me."
Kaise remained silent.
"I suppose asking you to make a decision right now is too much to ask but I'll give you something," Shiki said "Your mentor is in Haven City which is the location I am going to as well."
Kaise glanced towards him wide eyed.
"Now, I'll talk to the other people I want to help me," Shiki said "Think about what I said and tell me by tomorrow," he walked away.
Closed the door. Kaise walked back to his room without a word. As he walked, he wondered whether he should join or not.
A creak echoed. Kaise glared upwards.
The ceiling smashed opened as a 2 masked bandits with guns leaped down. These masked men surrrounded him with their guns aimed.
This made Kaise reached his gun from inside his pocket. The masked men smirked and prepared to shot.
"Our orders are to kill you," a masked man said as he locked his gun towards him "Nothing personal."
The men shot him. Kaise evaded their bullets and heard them echoing on the walls. A man shot him again.
Kaise dodged again but a hair's breath and shot him in the leg. This shot made the man squirm as he dropped to the ground, holding his injured leg.
The other one moved in and started shooting more and more "You'll pay." He threw a grenade at him.
Kaise dodged the bullets but one grazed him. He doved inside the bathroom and the grenade missed him. The explosion cracked the flooring and walls.
The masked man barged into the bathroom. Kaise dropped him with a heel kick to the ankle. Rolling around the ground whilst holding his head, the masked man gritted his teeth.
Quickly, Kaise stood up and pointed his gun at him "Who are you? Who exactly are you working for?"
He saw the man's glowering eyes. The man yanked his other gun as quickly as possible "Now die!"
A gunshot echoed. The man's chest holed and he dropped to the ground. Kaise glanced out the window, noticing someone spying but the person escaped in time. Is this because that Shiki person asked me to join him? He inspected the body. I'll look through his pockets and see what I can get. And I'll interrogate the other one that attacked me.
The spy walked the streets wearing a grey hoodie and a white mask beneath, looking at his letter. This mask only revealed his section below his nose and his blonde hair.
