Bad Has Never Looked So Good

"Well, Students," Principle Snow says. "You are dismissed from detention."

"Yes!" Johanna exclaims and runs out the door, making Snow shake his head in disappointment.

I grab my backpack and sling it on my back. "Hey, Glimmer, right?" I hear from behind me and I turn around to see Cato, making me smile at the sight of him, for some reason.

"Yeah." I say. "Cato, right?" I say to the blond boy.

"Yeah," he smiles a shy smile while he looks down at his cowboy boots. "Can I walk with you?" He asks, making my smile widen.

"Sure." I say. "Georgia, huh?"

"Yep," he says with a southern accent. "Right you are, Partner."

That was the sexiest thing I've ever heard. I think as we walk out of the building.

"You're good," I compliment, giggling.

"Why, thank you, I learned it from some kids at the school I went to." He says.

I stop at my car and dig my keys out of my purse while he keeps walking. "Hey!" I call out to him, making him turn to face me. "Do you have a -um- ride?" I say, hesitating.

He smiles. "Yeah," he says. "My brother's picking me up."

I nod, smiling. "Okay, I just wanted to know." I say and get in my car, shutting the door, then putting the key in the ignition, cranking the car up. I roll down the window. "See you tomorrow!" I shout.

He turns around and acts like he tips an imaginary cowboy hat, smiling and winking. " 'Til then, Partner." He says, continuing with the sexy southern accent.

Oh my Gosh! I think. I'm already falling for him. I drive out of the school parking lot when my phone rings. I pull my phone out of my pocket and check the caller. Clove. I smile as I put the phone to my ear.

"Hey, Clo." I say.

"Hey, Glim, how was your day?" She asks. We do this everyday; ask each other how our day was.

"It was great," the words fall out of my mouth. "How about yours?"

"It was good," she says. "Detention wasn't as bad as Gale thought it was." We both giggle.

"I bet Cato didn't like the fact he got detention on his first day." I say.

"Probably not." she says. "Oh, Glim, before I forget, Mom needs you to come over."

"Now?" I say.

"Now or later," she says.

I smile. "Clove, you know I don't want to wait until later to come over." I say, making us both laugh.

"Okay, see you in a few minutes?" She says.

"You know it," I say to her.

"Bye," she says. "Love ya."

"Love ya, Girl." I say and hang up, sliding my phone back into my pocket.
