A/N: I'd thought I'd continue with Clove's POV for just one more chapter this time.

Clove

I laugh as we roll around in the meadow while Cato tickles me. "Stop!" I burst out in fits of laughter. "I can't breathe!" I laugh harder. He stops and we are face-to-face. He's propped up on his forearms while I'm flat on my back, grinning up at him. "How ya doin' there, cowboy?" I wink.

He grins an award-winning smile. "Pretty good. How 'bout you, city girl?"

I smile and wrap my arms around his neck and bring his lips down to meet mine. I smile into the kiss but something's bugging me. I pull away. "Why are you leaving?" I sit up, so were vertically facing each other.

"It's just for a week," he says, playing with a piece of dead grass. "I'll be back before Christmas, I promise."

I sigh, "A whole week?"

"Yeah. I'm leaving tomorrow." He kisses me. "But, that's tomorrow." He whispers softly into the kiss.

"What about...?" I start then gasp quietly as he kisses down my jawline. "What about Two-bit and Bella?"

He gets to my neck. "What about Two-bit and Bella?" He whispers.

He pulls away. "Who's going to feed them?"

"Dad will." He pecks my lips softly.

I smirk as I lie back down in the grass, pulling him down with me by the collar of his shirt and bringing his lips to mine again. Something is still bothering me. Is it the fact that he'll be gone for a while? No. It's the fact that we haven't told each other we love each other. I love him. A lot. I just don't want to scare him off by telling him first. I think into the kiss.

I feel like I'm taking advantage of him, pulling him down with me like that. I pull away, my eyes narrowed and my breathing slightly heavy. He furrows his brows. "What's wrong?" He asks, sounding worried.

"We should have a lazy day," I smile at him. I don't want to tell him the real thing that's bothering me.

He cocks his head to the side innocently and I laugh. "Why do you say that?" He smiles.

"We've never had one," I say, shrugging.

"One day," he says. I stand up and dust the grass off my clothes but he grabs my waist and pulls me back down. My back against his chest and his arms wrapped around me. "Am I a burden?" I ask him, holding his hands tightly.

"Hm?" He asks, his chin resting on my head.

"Do I bother you?" I turn my head to face him. He's frowning.

"Absolutely not! Why would you bother me?" He asks.

I merely shrug. "I don't know," I say. "I just thought you'd get tired of me."

He kisses my cheek then whispers, ever-so-softly, in my ear, "I'll never get tired of you. You're mine until the day I die." Then breathes in it once, sending chills down my spine.

I smile. "I love it when you do that," I kiss him softly.

He stands up. "Wanna go swing?" He holds his hand out to me.

"Yes," I say, smiling and taking his hand.

"Race?"

"Race," I laugh and we shoot off to the swings. "I win!" I shout and stick my tongue out at him.

"Not fair," he crosses his arms over his chest in a childish way.

I laugh at him. "I'll miss you," I say seriously, but still smile while he swings sideways.

"Hey," he stops swinging and stands up. "Don't worry about me, okay?" He whispers, bending down, cupping my cheek with his hand, and kisses me.

I nod, my eyes closed with my forehead to his. "I'm just scared you'll get on that plane and..." I'm crying now. "I don't want you to leave me! Cato, a lot of people had died on those things, I don't want you to be one of them."

"I won't," he says. "I swear."

"You can't swear that nothing will happen," I sob.

"No," —he crouches in front of me— "but, I can swear to never leave you."

I smile again then kiss him. God! I love him so much. "Does tomorrow have to come?" I ask.

"Don't worry about it," he replies, grabbing and squeezing my hand. "Tomorrow's tomorrow."
