Chapter 25- preliminaries

-Haruka's POV-

" Hiya scarecrow" I said taking his book away from his face. "I thought you'd be here on the first day...." he said which I sighed " I know but I needed to investigate remember? Besides I'm glad I didn't cause I managed to protect my team" I said proudly. " Good. Now i'm guessing you want to come in now?" I nodded and followed him inside the Tower. I spotted many teams there even the sand siblings, I shrugged and teleported in front of the hokage office, and like always I barged in. " Gramps! I missed you!" I shouted and at least a dozen ANBU surrounded me, kunai near my throat. I raised my hand in defence and faced Gramps who face palmed. "Haruka I thought you've learned to knock?" I scratched my head sheepishly, " not really... Anyway I have a clue on this mastermind. If I remember correctly he said his name was Orochimaru" I heard gasps behind me but ignored it. I still had my mask on cause I wanted to surprise everyone at the prelims. " Hey gramps, can you change my name on the prelims? I want to surprise everyone" I changed my name in the first and second exam. I grinned when he nodded so I returned back to where the other genins are.

It's already been five days and it had already been announced that the preliminaries is about to begin. There were a lot of complaints but we filed out when Sasuke and another persons name came up on the screen. I can see he was already in pain but I can't do anything, he's too pride full so I won't help him. Besides I know that Naruto and the others will cheer for him. When the proctor Hayate I think, started the match, both competitors jumped backwards. Their fight was great! Even though Sasuke's chakra was being eaten, he still won the match. At first I really thought he was done for but wow am I wrong. He managed to defeat his opponent by copying Lee's move, I don't know how but man! It was so cool! I Cheered along with everybody else when he won.

The next battle would be Shino and the sound nin from before, I had to admit, Shino was great using his bugs to his advantage. It was also cool when bugs started to come out of his face when he got hit too. " GO SHINO!!"I cheered, but then regretted it cause everyone stared at me. I cleared my throat and looked away, ' that was so stupid!' I thought as Shino started to climb up the stairs. I felt something on my right arm like something was crawling. I looked down and saw a bug, I shrugged and picked it up with a senbon needle. " I'm sure Shino sent you, so tell him I have a surprise to everyone" I said and it flew away, I know it's weird to talk to bugs but hey! at least someone can understand insect language. "Haru-chan~" Hiro whined and I sighed. I know that when he whines, he wants something or he's bored to death that he wants to kill something or someone. "I feel you Bro.... Just a little more and you'll fight someone" I said and flung my arms around his shoulder.

After so many battles that were either boring or useless or thrilling it was finally Kilburn's turn to fight. " YEAH! GO LIL BRO! MAKE ME AND HARU-CHAN PROUD!!!" I smacked him upside the head and scratched my ear.

-Third Person's POV-

the little boy giggled at his older sibling's bickering, he faced his opponent when he scoffed. His opponent was at least five years older than him but he wasn't fazed, " am I really gonna fight this pipsqueak?" He said glaring at the Proctor who nodded. " Let the match between Shinigami Kilburn & Kazeyoshi Inoe begin! " The match begun and little Kilburn hadn't made his move, on the other hand his opponent was smirking to himself thinking that this would be an easy win for him. " Why don't you forfeit little boy? You should go play with your siblings instead" he taunted but the only reaction Kilburn made was tilting his head to the side " I don't want to forfeit. But I can play with you if you want" he grinned evilly which sent shivers down to everyone on the stadium except for his siblings. " Alright Let's play then!" Inoe made a dash towards Kil, he punched him in his stomach which made him fly to the other side of the arena. He smirked when Kil didn't stand up. When he turned around he suddenly felt that he's running out of air, he saw Kilburn in his peripheral vision grinning. " nee, I'm not done playing yet! " he said as he choked Inoe. When he was about to pass out, he let go and kicked him in the face hard. Everyone in the stadium was amazed and scared at the same time at the child's strength, they looked at Hiro who had a smile on his face. "Kil! Don't get carried away!" He shouted, the little boy nodded and continued his torture for the poor thirteen year old. The thirteen year old looked scared at the maniacal smile Kil had, he was about to shout his defeat but he didn't get the chance because a hand covered his mouth. "I thought you wanted to play with me? Let's play some more!" Kilburn said and took a kunai, he grabbed Inoe's tongue and smiled sweetly at him before cutting it. Inoe screamed bloody murder as the pain shot through every inch of his body. He couldn't fight back because every time he did, Kilburn is one step ahead. This Day he lost his tongue and his left eye when little Kilburn gouged his eye out of its sockets, he was about to steal the poor boy's heart when his brother shouted. "Kil! That's enough for now! You can continue that in his dreams" "awww but I was getting on the good part!" He whined but he was given a strict look which made him drop the subject. "W-winner of t-t-this match is S-Shinigami Kilburn" the Proctor announced.
