Chapter 13: The Orphanage,
And as for Kevin and Valeria, they arrived at the orphanage after 8 minutes of endless driving, they finally reached their destination. A lady dressed in a yellow sundress greeted them while Kevin parked his car.
“I've been expecting you.The kids are having their party at the backyard” the woman said, “I am Freziana by the way, but you could call me Frez” she said as she lead them through the building
“It’s a pleasure of meeting you” Valeria and Kevin both said in unison, they exchanged glances with each other. “I am Kevin/Valeria” they both said in unison, yet again.
“Are you 2 a couple?” Frez asked, she was a young lady that of 4 years older than Valeria.
“We are not” Valeria answered
“Yet” Kevin added, smirking at Valeria. She gave him a confused glance. ‘She’ll be surprised by thee, I am sure’ he thought while they both trailed behind Frez. They finally reached the backyard and there were a lot of kids running around the place, swinging on the swing, climbing the monkey bars, sliding down the slide, or just playing tag with the other kids.
“Let’s start to cook, this is Jillian. She’ll be helping you grill the bar-b-q’s she said, both of them gave her a smile and nodded. They began grilling the bar-b-q’s. Valeria burst out of laughing when Kevin burnt his bar-b-q which resulted for it to turn into charcoal.
“Anything, funny?” he scoffed
“Nothing, sorry” she apologized and tried so much to hide her laughter but she burst out in it again.
“Oh, is that so?” Kevin said, he began chasing her with the burnt bar-b-q making her eat it. “Come here! I thought nothing’s wrong! So eat my bar-b-q I know it tastes good for you!” he said running behind her, she began giggling. Kevin caught her by her waist and she began struggling.
“Stop it! It’s not a good act to make in front of the children!” she said, pulling away from his grip “And besides my bar-b-q’s will burn” she added, Kevin loosened and let her go. She got back to grilling and she was humming to herself when a girl about 5 years old began to tug on her skirt.
“Hello, my names Cathrina” she introduced, Valeria smiled and bent down to her level.
“Well, hello Cathrina. Would you like a bar-b-q?” she asked, the girl nodded.
“I would love it! But I have to give you something” she said and pulled the bouquet of flowers from her back, she handed them to Valeria.
“Why, thank you Cathrina” she ran her fingers through her hair “Who asked you to do this?” she asked her, her tiny fingers pointed at Kevin who was whistling with his back facing Valeria. She made her way to Kevin and tapped his shoulder, he turned around and smirked at Valeria
“Thank you for the flowers, Mr.” she said
“It’s a fact that you’ll always be welcome milady” he said, he pointed on something behind her and saw that the children we’re holding boxes of chocolates and gave it all to her.
