Chapter 10:

~At Lunch Time~

After the bell rang, Lauren was more than excited to meet Valeria for lunch. It was the same for Valeria, though she thought that she’s giving her trust away so easily that everything would only end up with him, breaking her heart. She never wants it to happen to her like what happened to those other girls. She shook her head and sighed, she tried to remove those thoughts and just resumed walking her way to the canteen. When she arrived at the canteen she spotted Kevin/Lauren, talking to her best friend Cecily. Shaking her head and sighing, she then just decided to grab her meal and sit on the table she can find. As for Lauren, the reason she’s talking to Cecily is because she wants to know much more information about her, though his father would just have his ‘sources’ find for him, he just want to know it by himself without any help.

“Um, I don’t really know. But she really talks about her best friend much, I think her name was….” She said trying to reminisce the times when Valeria was talking about her friend “Ah! Her name was Mary, Valeria told me that she and her often talk to each other through yahoo, or texting or calls. Maybe you should ask her instead” she suggested and Lauren nodded in response.

“Do you happen to know her number? Email? Which one?” he asked, Cecily grabbed her phone and began scanning the contact number’s list she had on her phone and fortunately she found it.

“Here XXXXXXXXXX for Mary and I think you don’t have Valeria’s yet? Here XXXXXXXXXX” she mentioned, Lauren memorized it and placed it on his phone shortly. Valeria, on the other hand thought that Lauren asked for her number and as for her she didn’t get it for herself, she just munched on her burger not caring the contents that are messing the side of her lips, glaring at Lauren secretly. But she quickly threw her looks to another place when Lauren spotted her. As he made his way towards Valeria’s table, he placed his bag down and grabbed his meal from his backpack, he had brought with him a delicious and juicy steak with mashed potatoes. It’s kind of childish, Valeria thought to herself still feeling a little jealous to Cecily. But his meal was neatly placed on a plate that is covered with aluminum foil and the sauce on the steak was firmly sealed in a tiny container. When he unwrapped the food, he gained looks from the other students who are quite jealous of his delicious meal. On the other hand Valeria was staring and drooling at the food while Lauren slowly pours the delicious sauce and let all the contents empty the container, making in more delicious than it looks. Lauren caught Valeria looking and he gave out a quiet chuckle.

“Would you like to taste it?” He offered, Valeria snapped out of her trance and glared at him. She just resumed on eating her greasy burger despite of its unpleasant taste. Lauren brought out his knife and began slicing the steak, he grabbed it with his fork and shoved in his mouth the small piece of steak he cut, making Valeria drool even more. He cut a piece of his steak and carefully pointed to Valeria’s mouth, Valeria hesitantly held her mouth open and began chewing the food he offered. Her eyes lit up and gave Lauren a small smile of thank you, he nodded carefully and resumed eating his meal.

“This is really good, your mom is a good cook” she complimented while chewing her meal, he chuckled.

“Um, I don’t want to lie to you but my mom didn’t cook that” he confessed, Valeria looked at him with confusion circling her ocean-blue eyes.

“If your mom didn’t cook that, then who did?” She asked, pointing on his meal.
