They placed their lab coats on and their protective goggles, they stood on their places patiently and Valeria tied her hair into a messy bun. The professor was greeted with a ‘good morning’ from his students as he came in from their laboratory.
“Okay, good morning, class!” he sighed and placed the pile of papers on his desk “I see we have a new student, or should I say student. Ok, lady’s first, Ms. Please introduce yourself” he pointed on Mary, Mary confidently stood in front of everyone.
“Good morning everyone, my name is Mary Peterson, I am 17 years of age, I’ll be turning 18 this May” she finished and turned to look at the professor.
“Thank you, Ms. Peterson” she pointed back at her place, Mary gladly got back to her place. Seth was next, he made his way in front of everybody. Him being a prince, had his confidence built up from the past few years when he and his brother we’re chosen to speak in front of everybody to express their thoughts about something or greet someone about their progress or birthday, that is during parties.
“Good morning everyone, it’s nice to be acquainted to you all this year. My name is Se-“ he paused and cleared his throat “What I meant to say was, Dominic Cane” he continued, he spun around to look at the professor
“Thank you, by the way, my name is Duke Burrows, call me Professor Burrows” he gave a wan smile “Ok, I forgot that I have assigned a homework about the combination of materials that was used by Ms. Lumber that have caused the explosion” he sighed as he began sorting the papers on his desk.
“But Professor, there had been a problem about our homework. It turned out that we could not identify the materials that Dianne used for it exploded and though it left some chemicals, it had been washed off.” Valeria explained, shrugging her shoulders.
“Your quite right Ms. FairHolm, indeed to replace that homework, let’s just have an experiment today, to continue what we should’ve done the other day, ” he began writing the chemicals that should be mixed for the experiment. “Okay, class! If your experiment is successful, the chemical would change its color from time to time” he explained as he turned his attention back to his students before writing.
Valeria and the others began following the required chemicals to be mixed, they had been careful cause for the last time, Kevin received a burn which Valeria did not want to have, which popped up on her mind.
“How was your burn lately?” she asked, turning her attention to Kevin.
“I have been surprised, the last time I checked it was healing so fast” he smiled warmly, Valeria nodded and began to focus on the experiment
“Could you hand me the Hydrogen Peroxide?” she stuck out her hands, Kevin sorted the chemicals and found what she needed, he handed it carefully to her and Valeria slowly poured half of the contents to her experiment. When the chemical began to turn its color from blue to purple then pink, Valeria smiled “Professor! We are successful” she cheered and removed her goggles.
“Okay, Ms. FairHolm and Mr. Cane, plus points for finishing early” he smiled and pointed on them both “Since, you are not doing anything lately, help the other students about the experiment so that they don’t waste too much chemicals” he pointed on the others, Valeria and Kevin glanced at each other and nodded in agreement, she approached Sheila with her lab partner, the boy who asked Valeria to be his partner last week.
