TuesdayI had been at the hospital with Danny for almost four days. The doctors said that he would be fine; he just needed to rest there for a while.
It was night time. The stars were shining, although there was a light drizzle of rain. The outside looked how I felt. I was happy that he was okay, but I still felt like crying. I wanted to quit being a spy. I wanted to be class president again, to be a normal teenager.
"Riley?" Danny's mom walked in the room. "You need to get some sleep, sweetheart."
"Somebody needs to stay with him. Somebody needs to talk to him when he wakes up."
"I know. He is not going to be by himself, I promise."
My mom was standing one the other side of the door. We went to the car and started home.
"Mom? I want to quit."
"Quit?"
"I want to be a teenager again. This isn't what I thought it would be. Danny got hurt. I don't want to do this anymore. Please, can we quit."
"Okay, if you want to quit, we will quit.
We pulled up to the house and I rest my head on my mom's shoulder. "Everything is okay. Don't worry." She said.
We went into the house and went to our rooms to sleep.
