Luke

it took me ages to think of a present worthy enough of winnie. she isn't very picky, but of course I wanted her 18th birthday to be special.

I asked the boys for help, of course. all of their ideas were either terrible or expensive. then, it hit me.

I introduced her to twenty one pilots when we first met and she fell in love with them.

she's also never been to a concert, so that gave me the perfect idea.

for her 18th birthday, I wanted to take her to a twenty one pilots concert.

of course, that was nearly impossible since they weren't coming to new york anytime soon. luckily, they were going to Atlanta and it also happened to be the last stop on their tour.

I bought the tickets about a month ago and with the help of cal, mikey and ash,   we planned out this entire roadtrip.

winter's birthday and the concert are tomorrow, so I'm going to give her the tickets today. I just don't know when.

I really hope she loves this gift. it was the only thing that I could think of that would even remotely show how much she means to me.

winter

"winnie, wake up! it's almost sunrise!" luke was standing over me. it was still pitch black outside. I don't know what he meant by almost sunrise.

"we're going to watch the sunrise." he grabbed me and carried me out of the hotel room bridal style. I was giggling like an idiot.

"finally. we've been waiting for you guys." michael said, clearly exasperated.

"remind us again why we're being summoned at 5 am." matt said, joey appearing behind him.

"you can blame luke for that, it's his dumb idea." calum said, yawning afterwords.

"oh, shut up. you're the one who helped me plan this whole trip. let's just go, we're gonna miss it." luke said, setting me down and grabbing my hand instead. we intertwined our fingers and walked outside.

-

"why not start off the day with watching a beautiful sunrise with a beautiful girl?" luke said, causing my cheeks to turn a bright shade of red.

he laid out a blanket for us to sit on. michael and calum were next to us, ashton was still sleeping, and matt and joey were snuggling on the opposite side.

we sat for about 30 minutes until the sun began to rise in the horizon. the shades of pink, purple, and red filled up the sky. luke looked mesmerized watching it.

I loved studying his features so much that it became a habit of mine. the way that his hair perfectly framed his face, his blonde locks complimenting his blue eyes and baby pink lips. his lips; they were so dreamy that I could write a novel about them.

he started to grow stubble recently, for some unknown reason. maybe it's because we always tease him about being the 'baby' of the group, since he's the youngest besides me. it suites him very nicely.

"you okay?" he asked when he noticed I was staring at him.  I nodded and scooted closer to him.

after the sunrise was over, we packed up our things and headed back to the hotel room.

"what are the plans for today?" I asked once we were all settled in on the tiny couch. the boys all looked at each other.

"well, we're going into the city." ashton said after no one else would.

"and we're leaving in 5 minutes, so go change." luke said.

I changed into a pair of jeans and a button down shirt, one of my nicer outfits.

"I'm also taking you out to dinner tonight, just you and me." luke whispered as we headed out the door.

-

richmond, virginia, was quite large. it's one of those cities that you have no desire to go to, but once you do, it surprises you. driving through all of the huge office buildings made you feel really small. calum parked the car in a random parking lot and we stepped outside.

"we really don't have anything special planned, so just do whatever. meet back here at 6." calum said and we all nodded, going our separate ways.

luke and I strolled along hand in hand.

"whatcha wanna do today, birthday girl?" he asked.

"technically, my birthday isn't for two more days. since you asked, we should go shopping. there's a lot of antique stores that seemed interesting." I replied.

"anything for you. let's go."

-

we wondered along the city streets, only window shopping. we only went into a few stores, like an old music shop that made luke very excited. he even bought a few records. the two of us ate lunch together. by the time we did all of that, it was time to meet up with the boys.

"michael and I ate a lot of food. virginia has great restaurants." calum said.

"matt and I had a very romantic day, if I do say so myself." we all rolled our eyes.

"I just chilled and saw some cute girls." ashton commented.

we made it back to the hotel. the boys decided to go to the pool while luke and I got ready for our date.

"I haven't been on a date with you in so long, I'm kind of nervous." luke laughed.

"oh please, I'm sure you're less nervous than me." I rolled my eyes.

I only packed one dress in my suitcase. of course it was the skin tight red one that hugged my body perfectly.

luke's jaw practically dropped to the floor when he saw me.

"oh my god, wow." he said, his eyes scanning my entire figure.

he was wearing a black button down shirt with black jeans. his shirt was unbuttoned a few, revealing his chest. I couldn't help but stare.

"wow yourself." I replied.

"when did you get that dress?" he asked, his eyes not leaving me.

"oh, I don't know. it's old. I've never worn it before." I shrugged.

"you should definitely wear it more." he said, wrapping his arm around my waist and leading me out the door.
