winter

we arrived at the restaurant luke picked out, and I must say that I'm quite impressed. calling it fancy would be an understatement.

"reservation for two, hemmings." luke told the hostess.

"this must've cost you a fortune." I said as we were getting seated. all of the people eating at this place looked to be at least 25, if not older.

"only the best for my girl." luke whispered. my heart fluttered whenever he said my girl.

"here you go, table for two. enjoy." the hostess placed our menus in front of us and smiled.

everything on the menu was very expensive and overly-fancy. the cheapest meal was $25.

"sorry to be a downer, but how can you afford this? last time I checked you and the boys were eating ramen noodles 24/7." luke laughed.

"the boys all chipped in some money to pay for this whole trip. we wanted it to be special, since it's your 18th birthday and all." he said, blushing.

"this trip has really made my eighteenth my favorite birthday. it's been wonderful." I replied.

"wait. you still don't know about my gift, the big surprise." luke smirked.

knowing him, it probably took him ages to come up with my gift. plus, I know the boys helped him come up with it since every time I would walk in a room they would stop talking.

"are you gonna tell me or...?"

he began to reach for something in his pocket, when our waiter came.

"what would the lovely couple like for dinner?" he smiled at us.

"I'll have the caesar salad." I said and luke gave me a strange look.

"actually, she'll have a steak. I'll have the same." I began to protest but the waiter had already walked away.

"the steak is 25 dollars. that's crazy." I said.

"that salad you 'wanted but didn't really want' was 20. five dollars won't kill me." he replied.

"really, I was fine with a salad. I need to watch what I eat anyways or else I won't be able to fit in this skin tight dress anymore."

"your body is perfect. you don't need to worry about that. it would be a shame if you couldn't fit into that dress; its my favorite." he winked, causing me to blush. the restaurant was dim but I'm positive he could see my cheeks.

"anyways, we haven't even gotten to the best part yet. I still have to give you your gift." luke said.

"what are you waiting for?" I said. he pulled out a small rectangular box and sat it on the table.

"it took me a while to find these-"

our waiter came, bringing us our meals and interrupting luke. he seemed rather annoyed.

"sorry. you can give me my gift after we eat." he nodded in agreement.

we finished eating and paid the bill. the rectangular box was just sitting there, looking extremely tempting.

"so..can I open it now?" I asked excitedly.

"I worked really hard to find you a good gift. the boys helped me think of this. it reminds me of the first few months that we became friends. you said you had never been to a concert before and I always made you listen to them in the car." he handed me the box.

I carefully removed the messy wrapping paper and opened the box. inside were two tickets to see twenty one pilots.

"oh my god!! are these real? this show's been sold out for months!" I said really loudly, causing everyone around me to stare.

"cal knows a guy at the venue, so he got us tickets."

"luke! this is one of the best gifts I've ever gotten. thank you. I love you." the last three words just slipped out. we hadn't said  I love you to each other yet. technically, we aren't even dating.

"sorry." I mumbled, feeling embarrassed.

"no, it's okay. I love you too, winter. really. I do." he said, squeezing my hand. my heart felt like it was going to explode.

"oh, by the way, the concert's tomorrow. hope you're ready!"

-

I'm so sorry for not updating in a month. and for having a bad chapter.

love you x
