Cecilia:    Summer Supplies filled have the store. I ran around, Luke following close behind me.

“Remind me what summer supplies are?” Luke asked. I stopped for a moment, collapsing on one of the sample chairs.

“Summer supplies are like school supplies.” I started. “Except appliances needed for the summer like cool balls, gardening tools, swimming stuff, and more” I finished. He looked confused as I mentioned the cool balls. Of course, up on the surface of the Earth, it was much cooler than underground. “Cool balls are miniature suns, except the give off cold air instead of warm.” He raised his eyebrows as I said this. “Come on, I’ll show you!”

Together we went throughout the store buying bunches of summer supplies and having loads of fun. When we were done, Luke drove me back home. “Thanks for the ride.” I said.

“No problem,” he replied. There was an awkward silence. “So, I’ll see you later?”

“Yeah, sure.” I said, and went into my house. I peered out my big yellow room and watched his black car speed away. Not too far behind I saw a sad looking boy. I squinted to see more clearly. I couldn’t quite see him. I ran down the stairwell to get myself a better look out the front window.

“Had a nice time Cecilia?” Mama called from somewhere in the house. I assumed she was doing an experiment and wouldn’t come check on my, which I was thankful for.

“Uh-huh,” I replied, peering out the window. He had straight, brown hair that was slightly parted to the side but mainly in his eyes. From what I could see he had big, wonderful eyes- and the saddest ones in the world. He looked hurt, sad, as if a beautifully heartless girl like Kat turned him down. I laughed at the chances if I was right. Out of curiosity I dared to meet him. He was obviously a Zerian from his clothes, and the fact I had never seen him before. I creeped out the door and walked toward the boy.

“Excuse me? Is something bothering you?” I asked, tapping his shoulder. The boy spun around in alarm

“Ah-ah, um, erm, uh no.” he stuttered. I stared at him curiously. “Well, actually, yes.  A girl I like turned me down… AH, ah… Why did I just tell you that? Uh, ha ha heh…” he stammered. I was tempted to roll my eyes. He turned away sadly.

“ Oh, well I’m Cecilia,” I offered, putting out my hand.

“Um… I’m Griffin.” He said. Slowly placing his hand in mine. The thought of when Luke held my hand came across my mind, I shook it out and gave Griffin a firm shake.

“You don’t know me well, but would you like to tell me what happened?” I asked, steering him toward a sidewalk bench and sitting down.

“Ah, uh well, I’m in your class…” Griffin replied slowly. I turned beet red.

“OH! I’m so sorry…” I muttered. He shrugged. “So, what happened to you?” I asked again. He looked at me wearily.

“Kat used to be my girlfriend, now she’s with some guy, Luke. She’s totally, forgotten about me. I just came over to her house to give her the summer school homework. And she wouldn’t let me say a word.” He held out a crumpled paper. I had to bite my knuckles to stop from laughing. So this boy was dumped by Kat! I shook my head. Griffin began tearing up. “Kat is so, so mean!” he cried. I patted his back.

“What did you like in Kat?” I asked. Sure, she was pretty, but I didn’t think that was what Griffin would like in a girl.

“ Kat is-err used to be the nicest, prettiest girl in Zeron; everyone liked her.” He replied. I nodded, completely confused.

I stood proudly beside Kat. She hooked her arm around mine. “Griffin!” Did you have to wait long?” she asked. I shook my head. “Oh goodie.” She skipped toward my hover board her hand in mine. Kat was such a sweet little girl. Though we were older now, she was always kind, and ever so innocent. Every since we were young, I had been in love with her.
