Cecilia:    “Hey Cecilia,” Luke said, smiling down at me- as usual.

“Hi… Luke,” I replied, trying to sound calm. He just stood there, smiling like a dork. “Err… I guess I’ll be going.” I muttered and quickly ran away. As I ran I could hear the two of them laughing and playing together.

“Cecilia! Who is that girl who keeps hanging out with Luke?” Annalise Saunders asked me. I didn’t know her that well, beside the fact she was one of the girls crazy about Luke. I ignored her and went into my room. It seemed that I wasn’t the only one who noticed. I had no idea where’d my life go next so I turned on my computer and opened my blog. The connection was much better than in the underground. I smiled at this but my mouth twitched. Luke had sent me a message, two actually. I opened the first one.

Cecilia:

Kat is really nice! I’m glad I got to know her. Thanks for introducing me to her! Actually, I knew her from before; I just didn’t know her name J

~Luke

I smiled sadly at the computer screen, at least someone was happy. I clicked reply:

Luke:

Good for you.

-Cecilia

The next message didn’t have a subject; I was hesitant to open it. If it mentioned Kat, I was only going to hurt myself.

Cecilia:

I know it’s none of my business but, is something wrong? :’( You were crying today.

~Luke

I deleted the message, not bothering to reply. It was his business, he just didn’t know it. I hugged my knees closer to me. It would be a long time until I would see him again.

“Cecilia? Get out of bed! It’s time for school!” Mama called from downstairs. I didn’t feel too good. Minutes later Mama was upstairs, her hands glued to her hips. “Young lady you better get up right now!” She looked around and I supposed I wasn’t visible in her view. “Cecilia?”

“Here,” I said my voice a quiet whisper; under the blankets and comforters, my small figure barely made a bump on the bed. Mama hurried over and placed a hand on my forehead.

“You’re burning up!” she cried out, “I’ll go call a doctor,” she walked out of my room and I turned over, whipping blankets off me. It turned out I had quite a deadly fever, and couldn’t go to school for the next few months. “It was probably from that walk you took.” Mama kept saying. I squeezed my eyes shut. It probably was, but not in the way Mama thought.

Kat:      “Cecilia isn’t here today.” Luke said. Steam poured out of my ears. She was all he talked about lately! I squeezed my eyes shut and counted to ten. Heaving a breath, I calmed down. “Maybe she’s sick,” he continued. That was the last straw!

“I can’t take it anymore! Cecilia this, Cecilia that, she’s all you think about!” I growled, bursting from my anger. He looked at me innocently.

“I can’t help it if I worry, she’s my best friend! Would you still be jealous if my best friend were a guy?” his face was blank with complete innocence. Too bad it was fake. I stormed away to the computer lab. Stupid earth, the technology was so low. I opened my blog. Cecilia hadn’t friended me but I sent a message to her anyway.

H8ful Person:

Get back to school and stop playing hooky!

*Kat*

I sat back and waited for her response, luckily school wasn’t starting soon. Ding! A new message, from Cecilia.
