Kat:     I stared at the phone, my mouth agape.  Did Luke seriously just hang up on me? Tiffany was coming over any minute now and if I didn’t find that purse, she’d so laugh at me. I considered my choices of either running to the mall and being late, or having her laugh at me. It would have been totally cute if Luke suddenly came in to give me a cute purse.  I rolled my eyes. There was a loud buzzing sound. I pressed on a button that would make the screen show who was at the door. I looked at the screen tensely, hoping that it was Luke and not Tiffany. Since nothing ever went my way, it was Tiffany.

“Soooo… where’s your immensely cute puuuuuurrrsse?” Tiffany asked, dragging out her words as I lead her into my house.

“Well… I like, couldn’t get to it. It was like- sold out!” I lied terribly. She snorted.

“UH, yea right. Let me guess, you want me back to buy your every little thing because you hate it when your record’s full.” She said, obviously mocking me. I scowled, she smiled. “Ok, I’ll go and buy everything like before, we’ll be best friends again if-“

“IF?” I countered, interrupting.

“IF you give me Luke.” She smirked at me, smiling slyly. It was like, a lose-lose situation on my behalf. I took a step back from the couch Tiffany was sitting in. “Deal, or no deal?” she prompted. I remember a show called deal or no deal. It was where you choose a bunch of boxes and at one point, they offer you money. If you said no deal, you go on, but sometimes the amount of money was lower. If you said deal, then you get the money but then they see which boxes you would have chosen if there are still some left; but sometimes the amount of money was higher then what you took, and you feel totally ripped off.

I thought hard. First, how do I give Luke? He liked me. Second, if I gave Luke to Tiffany, other things could break our friendship. I shook my head. I was totally not stupid. “No deal.” I responded. She coiled back in shock.

“Excuse me? Girl, you like Luke more than your best friend? Friends are forever, boys are whatever!” she stormed out. I lied lazily back. Maybe she was right, but she wasn’t the greatest person either. I snatched the remote and pointed it to the TV. Flashing pictures appeared in front of me from some stupid show. I leaned back and closed my eyes. I’d definitely lost Tiffany, but I felt I was losing something, someone, more important.

Cecilia:     “There’s a sale for summer supplies.” I said. School was almost over and summer supplies were always important to get real early before everything was out of stock.

“Sorry honey, I can’t take you and your dad has to work.” Mama said. I frowned. Mama was rarely busy so she must’ve had something important to do, but I really wanted to go.

“I can walk,”

“Cecilia, the supplies shop is really far, I’d feel better if only you accepted driving.” Mama said, trailing off her eyes looking at the newspaper. “Why don’t you ask Luke to drive you?” she added. I rolled my eyes. Mama never let me go far unless I was on car. But weren’t cars the reason for pollution? Wasn’t it the reason we had to go underground? I shook my head and grabbed my coat. “Cecilia…” Mama’s voice came in a warning. I ignored that and opened the door. At our doorstep stood Luke. He smiled past me at Mama.

“Don’t worry Mrs. Swanson, I’ll take care of her from here.” He winked at me.

“Alright, you two have fun!” Mama said and shut the door behind me. Luke grabbed my hand and half skipped half ran to his car, dragging me behind. I sat in the passenger’s seat.

“So this is why we stopped by her house?” a voice from the backseat said the voice sounded annoyed and harsh. It was Kat’s voice. Luke’s figure stiffened.

“Yeah…” he turned around to her. “Look, I know you don’t like Cecilia so I’ll just drive you home and then I need to take Cecilia shopping.”

“LUKE! You never take me shopping!” complained Kat. I rolled my eyes and blew out a sigh. Luke turned toward me and patted my head.

“Stop sighing, it’s not good for you.” He said, clearly ignoring Kat. She slouched down in the backseat and scowled.

“You know Luke is my boyfriend.” She said to me.

“Yup and he’s my dad.” I replied mockingly. She growled under her breath and stayed quiet for the rest of the ride.

Luke drove into a large neighborhood. Each house looked like a mansion with who knows how many acres between each house. Each house had a shiny rich aura. Luke then rode up to a large house. The biggest on the block. I stared up long at it; it had so many windows, plenty of balconies and so much more. Kat smirked at me as she stepped daintily out of Luke’s car. I glared furiously at her. But as soon as she closed the door Luke drove off quickly, not giving a chance of any arguments.

“Ready for your summer supplies?” he asked. I smiled. The aura around him was much more relaxed with Kat gone.

“As I’ll ever be.”

Kat:        Tiffany was strewn across my couch, grinning slyly. “So, watcha call me for? An apology?” she asked, clearly testing my patience. I growled under my breath. She cocked her head to the side, an innocent look on her face. “Cat got your tongue? No wait, I know, Luke dumped you for that scrappy girl.” She said, her face like a snake coiling around its prey.

“NO! He would never, I think… Well my point is, he might, and that’s like, totally not cool.” I admitted shamefully. Tiffany smiled smugly.

“That’s what you deserve.” She said, and walked out the door. I stared at her back, for she left the door open, Tiffany could be mean, but she was never so cruel. I always had someone watching over me, Luke Daddy, Tiffany, always one of them. (Mommy never spoiled me) Now, I felt utterly, and completely alone. I quietly closed the door, the latch clicked. I closed my eyes and heaved a sigh; which I quickly drew back. I remembered Luke, caring so affectionately when horrid Cecilia sighed. I didn’t need wimpy head patting, he could love me for more things than just being weak. I stormed into my room and opened my blog. Before leaving Zeron, or hearing about Earth, I had just broken up with a Zerian, Griffin. He was totally, bland but kind of like, proud to be with me (I know, lame, right?) so I hadn’t posted up that I was with Luke. I mean, I have a heart if I want to.

Kat<3 is in a relationship

Kat<3: With Luke!

I leaned back. That made it official. Luke was mine. A second later another comment was posted.

Griffin Night: Who’s Luke?

Tiffany 4evr: A totally lame guy, be jealous birdman, cuz he is worse than u.

Griffin Night: First of all, im not a bird.

Annika Smith: LMAO!

I ignored the long conversation. All I saw was Tiffany’s post. She knew Luke would see that… Right? I boiled in my anger. I opened a chat with Tiffany.

Kat<3: Tiffany! How could u say that! U think Luke is hot don’t u?

Tiffany 4evr: Thought, until I realized who he thought was girlfriend material.

Kat<3: That’s bull.

Tiffany 4evr: Im not the only one who thinks so ;P

Kat<3: r u getting at something?

Tiffany 4evr: I sure am grl

Kat<3: u hav personality issues.

I signed out and turned off the computer. She had some nerve! I flopped onto my bed and yanked a pillow over my head. Was there something wrong with me that made all this happen?

Ding-dong! The door bell rang. I ran down the stairwell, so much shorter than in Zeron and came to the door.

“Hey Kat!” it was Griffin. I rolled my eyes.

“Go away, I don’t have time to mess with boring people like you,” I said, closing the door. Griffin winced.

“Wai-“ he began. I slammed the door. I could have a heart, but I could also take it out.
