Anastasia walked down to the lobby and pulled the hems of her jacket closer together. It was still raining outside and she didn't have an umbrella on her. So she took her scarf and pulled it over her head, creating any protection she could. Exiting the front door, her bags strap got stuck to the leaver. She tried to free it, but the stiches were messed together and pulled tense. So she pulled it harder. It snatched open and so did the strap, breaking from the spot it couldn't be fixed so easely.
As she walked over to her car, there were no people on the street. The street was glissening like glass. Opening the door, she heared a roaring sound coming closer. As she looked back, a metallic black sedan with tinted windows passed by so close, almost knocking her over. And it wasn't all. He drove throw a puddle, soaking her with water. Thank. You.. she thought angerly. What an asshole! Can't he see there is a person on street?
She took off her jacket and placed it on the seat of her car. All her clothes were soaking wet and suddenly she felt cold. Turning on the motor and putting the AC on, she turned it on full. Anastasia glentched her sides and sat without moving a muscule. She was trying to dry herself, as Laura sat in the car. "What happened with you?" she asked, looking at Anastasia with her eyes wide and confused. "Some jerk drove by too close to me!" She shivered. Without stopping at the grocery store, Anna drove straight home. She run upstairs and stripped. Taking her clothes off, Laura knocked on the door before entering. "Are you decent?" she asked. "Almost naked!" Anastasia replied, putting on a bathrobe.
Laura jumped on Anastasia's bed and pulled a pillow under her head. "We have a problem!" she said, crossing her hands on her stomach and grinning her face off. "What do you mean- we have a problem?" Anna asked confused, taking a pair off charcoal grey sweatpants from her drawers. "We were supposed to buy food before we came home." she smiled at her, taking a book from her bedside table and shuffling the pages before putting it back. "But I have a solution!" She winked at her, getting herself off the bed and walking back to the door. "Get dressed, we are going out!" she said, before closing the door.
Anastasia looked at her leaving and stood there in front of the dresser, before snapped out. She followed her to the living room: "What do you mean we are going out?" she asked, pulling the fridge door open and run her eyes up and down the shelves. There was enought stuff to cook food for a week. "Did Mike ask you out today?" Laura asked, taking a bottle of water from the fridge and opened it. "Yes he did, but I said no!" As she said it, she knew exactly what Laura had meant by saying 'going out'!
Anastasia was about to tell her off, before Laura intervined: "Well I said yes, and you are coming with me! So get dressed, we are leaving in a hour." She took her bottle and went into her bedroom. Too tired to argue, Anastasia based back to hers, took a shower and started looking for clothes. She had no idea, where they were going, so she decided on a black lace tunic, dark blue skinny jeans, knee high boots and a dark grey rain coat. She slipped a sweater into her bag and set her hair into a fish tail. She sprayed on a little of her favourite perfume and freshened up her make up.
When she left her bedroom, Laura was already dressed and sat on the sofa. "Finally!" she breathe out and stood up. "Sorry, I couldn't decide!" Anna apologized, pulling on her boots.
On the way to the bar, Mike had texted Laura their location. It was an Irish bar in upper New York. He was waiting for them outside, when Anastasia parked her car. But straight up, she noticed the same black sedan parked up in front of hers. The same jerk that almost ran her over. But she didn't say anything and she was sure that there were more than one same looking cars in NY.
"So you came?" Mike asked, when he hugged Anna. His hug felt bone crushing and he already smelled like beer factory. Entering the bar, they walked to the table, where some of their coworkers were sitting. There were shot glasses on the tabel and a plate with sliced lemons- tequila...
Everybody took a seat at the table, but Anna walked straight to the bar. "A water please!" she said to the bartender. He nodded and took a bottle of Evian from the fridge. Anna payed for it and opened the bottle straight away. She licked her dry lips and took a large gulp of her water. Drinking almost half of it, she almost let out a burp. She looked back at the table and saw Laura and Mike kissing. What the hell? She never told her, that they had something going on! Anna smiled at the thought of both of them and sat down behind the counter.
"A whiskey on rocks, please!" A man next to her said to the bartender. She turned her head and saw him sitting next to her. Oh my God! She couldn't belive her eyes. "Can I buy you a drink?" he asked, but Anna didn't react to that. So he leaned over a little bit, "Can I buy you a drink, I asked?" he repeated. Oh, he was talking to her. "No, thank you. I already have one!" She raised up her bottle, indicating she wasn't going to drink anything with alcohol in it. "Alright! I'm James!" he introduced himself, holding out his arm.
He didn't have to introduce himself. Everybody, Anna included, already knew who he was. A sex symbol, a world known actor and global sensation of women. One role in big hit movie and all women chased him like wild fire. "I'm Anna." She introduced herself, her voice shaking. "Are you here alone?" he asked, taking a sip of his iced filled glass, golden liguid illuminating in it. "No! With some friend!" Anastasia answered, twirling the bottle between her hand. As she turned to look back into her table, a surprise hit her as tide wave. There talking to Laura and Mike was Shaun with a blonde skinny babe in his arm. "Oh no!" She turned back, fixing her gaze to the hard liquer shelves behind the counter.
