It had been 5 weeks, since she had seen him. On the day of the break-up, Anna finished work and headed home, just to find Shaun sitting in the living room sofa, drunk. He had finished a bottle of vodka and stumbled around in the room, kicking things off the shelves. And soon the fighting started, he accuising her of cheating and not caring about his needs. The last drop fell when he said to Anastasia, that she wasn't pretty enought for him. Wasn't worthy of him and it hurt her immenselly. He broke off their engagement and threw her out.
Anastasia pealed off the sign on the bottle and folded it neetly. She turned once again to see if he was still there and he was. She really didn't want to talk to him, so she ignored him as long as she could.
"Is something wrong?" James asked, looking at the same direction as she had done and turned back to her. "No, it's fine!" she shaked her head.
"Clearly something is wrong?" Jack pushed on, taking another sip of his whiskey and looking back in the direction where Mike and Laura were sitting.
Why would he have any intrest, what was happening? Anna tried to be as discreet as she could and let out a sigh: "My ex-fiance is here!" she said, taking a gulp of her water, swallowing hard.
"And?" he leaned in.
"We kind of broke up on bad conditions!" Anna came clean, as she turned to face him. That Irish actor, female magnet, was sitting beside her, asking her questions. She tried to be as calm as she could, but it was hard.
Suddenly she felt a tap on her shoulder and she turned around, "Laura!" she said, hugging her. "Shaun wants to talk to you!" Laura said, looking at the guy sitting beside Anna. James covered his face with his palm and looked away, afraid that she would recognize who he was. He had slipped in the bar without anyone noticing and he wanted it to stay that way. The last thing he wanted was a paparazzi chasing him.
" I have no need to talk to him. He can leave!" she replied, turning back her gaze at the bar. "He said that he has something for you and that he needs to talk to you, right now! He said that he won't leave before he can!" Laura said, whispering into her ear. But James heard everything Laura said and he noticed how upset Anna got. "Fine, I will go talk to him!" she replied, putting her bottle on the bar and following Laura to their table.
James turned around to see her leaving. Shaun grabbed Anna by her forarm and pulled her away from everybody else. The blonde babe he was with, took a seat at Mike's table. "Did you get my e-mail?" Shaun asked Anna, pintching her with his tight grip. She shaked his hand off her and stood quietly, trying not to look him. "I did, but I don't have anything in your place. I took all, remember?" Anna responded, trying to walk away but Shaun stepped her way. "The books on the shelves don't belong to me!" Oh, these were hers, but now that he mentioned them, she really didn't miss them at all. "You can keep them, I don't need these books!" Anna tried to walk away once again, but yet again, Shaun stopped her.
"Are you seeing someone right now?" he asked, grabbing her.
"Why do you care?"
"Because I do!" He pointed at the blonde sitting at the table and talking to Mike.
"I can see that yes! Why are you rubbing it under my nose?" Anna got furious at him, as her face turned white and tears almost escaped her eyes.
"Payback is a bitch right?" He answered, huge grin on his lips.
Before Anna could say anything else, she felt someone standing behind her and warm feeling on her hips. His hands were on her, pulling her backwards. "Here you are honey! I been looking for you!" James said, pulling Anna into his embrace.
Shaun looked up to see the guy behind her and his jaw fell on the floor. He knew exactly who he was. James came to the rescue, when he saw how the guy threated Anna, grabbing and tormenting her. "Honey?" Anna asked, looking up at him. He was tall and like a God, howered over her like a statue. She was pushed aginst his chest, his body heat transmitting to her. "Babe, are you ready to go?" he asked, placing a small kiss on the side of her mouth. Anna just stilled, not knowing what to do. He winked at her, giving her a fast kiss on her lips. She bearly felt it. James leaned to her ear and whispered: "Play along!"
"Hmhm,"she answered, taking his hand and walking pass everybody to the front door. Mike looked back, as James opened the door for Anastasia. Shaun grabbed his girlfriend by her hand and they walked out. When James saw them following, he grabbed Anna by her hand and pulled her in for a kiss. But this time he really kissed her. She was caught off guard as James pushed his lips on hers, devouering all her taste. He took her arms and wrapped them around his neck. He moved his tongue over her lips to get access to her mouth but she didn't let him. She didn't even kiss him back.
Shaun stopped before he sat in his car, James was still kissing Anna passionatly and pulling her foward him. Emotions hit like waves, as she drifted away in his lips. As the car passed them, Anna pushed herself away from him. His grip lousened, as she took a step back, her body leaving his. Looking at him, words couldn't exit her mouth, as she bit her lower lip and tasted him. It had a savory taste to it, kind of bitter- whiskey she thinked to herself.
"You pushed yourself on me!" she takes another step back, leaving him guardless. "I saved you! He was treating you like crap." He narrows his eyes, mouth blastered into a thin line. Stepping out and taking her hand, he makes small circles with his thumb on the back of her hand, but Anna slips her hand from his grip. "Good night!" she says and heads back in. James looks down to his palm and turnes back to glace at Anna. He is confused, shaking his head and slipping his fingers throw his dark hair. He enjoyd the moment between them, but she rejected him.
What the hell just happened?
