She pointed at the seat across her and look down to her computer. He didn't take the hint and settled in more. And even closer to her than before. He could smell her perfume so close by, he almost jumped at the thought of her pressed against him and him pulling her hair, so he could blaster his lips on hers. Anna had a effect on him, he could control himself, but he pulled throw and breath out deeply before asking: "Why you have to be so beautiful?"
Anna jumped at his question. What?
"What are you talking about? And I should question you, not the other way around!" she squirmed at her seat, slipping herself few inches away from him. He was complimanting her, but the way he did it, made her swallow hard and push herself away from him. "Next question. Tell me about your new movie, 'Under the influence', and why has it been such a big hit?" she asked, her lips dry and she licked them. James noticed it and his mouth grew dry also. He shook himself out from the thoughts he had and answered: "It kind of has the effect on people. That romantic story between two people who don't belong together but somehow do. I liked playing Hardy Black. He has a resemblence to me and it wasn't so hard to stay in role. I like to think that I am him."
Anna had seen the reviews to the movie and a trailer in Youtube. It seemned to be her kind of movie. Steamy love story, with deep secrets behind both characters, sex scenes so hot that could make the whole audience in the cinema squirm in their seats.
"Tell me about your family! I didn't find any information about them!" she said, typing down his last answer. James stayed quiet. He didn't have a family. He was the only child and sadly his mother died giving birth. His father drank himself to death when he was just 10. He had never talked about them, not to anybody, not talking about in an interview. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "I don't have a family!" he said, thinking about his father and his face turned pale at the thought of him. He had only his aunt and her husband that raised him. He cared for them, more than he cared for anybody else. They saved him, adopting him, preventing him to end up in a foster home or even worse- orphenege.
"I'm so so sorry!" she took his hand and rubbed it. It felt natural for her to do it, but a second later, she pulled her hand away. She could see that he felt hurt, so she closed her laptop and stood up. "I'll bring us some tea." she said, walking behind the counter and putting the water in the boiler. George didn't mind her, he actually had asked her several times to help her in the diner, if she had a day off. But this was just a year ago, and back then she was working as a advice colume writer for another newspaper and she was with Shaun. Shaun- that son of a bitch who she still had feelings for. Love didn't die over night, every second after their break-up she thought of going back to him and asking him to take her back. But she couldn't give in, she wasn't that weak. She had to be strong and stand on her own. So she had forgotten him, until he came into the bar the other night.
She took two tall glasses from the hanger and poured the boiling water in them. James kept close eye on her, as she worked throw the counter, confident and almost moving slow-mo. She took two bags of English tea from the teabox and placed them on the plate on the tray. James stood up and walked over to the counter. "Let me help you with that!" he said, taking the tray and with out any difficulty carried it back to their booth. She placed both teas infront of them and slipped the bag into the steaming hot water. He slowly lowered the bag in and out, making the transparent water change into a golden shade.
Anna did the same, but faster and took a quick taste of her English tea. It tasted like muffins and aroma pinched her nostrils. It felt good but the taste just lingered in her mouth for a moment, until it dissapeared. He blowed on and took a careful sip. It hurt but it was good kind of pain.
"I think I should continiue with the questions." she said, placing her tea back at the table and opened her laptop yet again. "Sure!" ,he said quietly, "but no questions about my family. This is too personal!"
"Fine!" she scrolled down in the document and deleted the 'family' question. He smiled, knowing that it would stay the way he wanted. He had no willing to talk about them, about his father or his aunt.
"Next question. What do you do for fun?" she asked, "do you have any hobbies?"
James thought about the club he visited few times in the week. 'Trapped' was a private club, under the radar, for people who wanted to control their sex partners. It wasn't a BDSM club but it was similar to the one he had been once. It wasn't that rough as the hardcore BD club he had been few years ago. It wasn't his lifestyle, but he enjoyed going there once or twice in week to feel the pleasure about controlling his partner. Other than that he had casual dates and sweet love making after, but the club offered something different. He was a member in there, and there went many famous people and actors. But he used only the submissives the club offered, girls he didn't know and girls he only used for pleasure.
"I box!" he said a grin on his face, and this time Anna noticed the dimples. "I have a gym in my apartment and sometimes I go out. A friend of mine owns one uptown." he continiued, taking a large gulp of his tea, but forgot that it was steaming hot. He burnt his lips and his whole mouth. "Water!" he said, in a deep voice, his hand on his throut. Anna stood up fast and ran to the counter, she took a bottled water from the fridge. She handed him the water and he had to wrestle with the cork before he could release his pain, swallowing hard and cooling his mouth with the chilly cold water.
She giggled. "It's not funny. If you laugh again, I swear I will kiss you right here and now!" he said, with a deep voice. Instantly Anna stopped laughting. "No, you wouldn't. You burned your lips. It would hurt more." she said, small smile on her pink glossed lips. "Wanna bet? I wouldn't care for the pain. It would be worth the attempt." He replied, his gaze fixed on her lips, and he swallowed harder. She shook her head and he closed the lid of her computer. "You know what;" he took a paper from her folder and saw that she had printed out all the questions, she wanted to ask him," I will answer the rest at home and send it to your e-mail." He folded the page and slipped it into his jacket pocket.
He turned back to her. "Should we go?" he asked, standing up and grabbing the bottle of water. "Yes! Wait for a minute, I will let George know that we're leaving!" She also stood up and gathered her things. She poured the rest of their tea down the drain in the sink and left the glasses on the counter. When she dissapeared into the back room, James took money from his pocket and slipped it on the counter- for the water and their teas. He crabbed Anna's things and walked up to the diner door. James leaned against the doorframe and waited for her return. Finally after a minute or two the door opened and Anna came throw. She climpsed at the table and saw that her things were gone. James had taken them. She opened the door and they walked out.
Driving back to her apartment, radio played Calvin Harris' song 'How deep is your love' and it was soundtracking their drive. He drove fast and since there was no traffic, he pressed the pedal almost to the floor, prepelling them both into their seats. Anna crabbed the edge of her leather seat and pulled back. James took glimpses at her, but didn't slow down. She seemned to enjoy the speed and the way he pushed the power of the car.
Finally arriving at her apartment building, she had lost her breath and the sudden stopping knocked her out from the dream. He turned out the engine and opened his seatbelt. He turned to face her and crabbed her hand before she could open her car door. "I want to see you again!" he said, looking her intensly. The question brought Anna almost on her tiptoes, questioning herself if she would like to see him again. She did, but not so fast. She felt afraid, that he would ask her out, but the pure thought about going out with that womanizer made her squirm on her seat. "Will see!" she replied, opening the door and slipping out. She bent down to thank him for the ride and the half interview he had given her.
She closed the door and walked toward her building. James quickly lowered the side window. "Anna!" he said with a husky voice, that trembled her steps. "Thank you for the date!"
She turned and walked back to his open window. "It wasn't a date!" she said, giving him an angry look. ""It was!" he said and raised up his window before driving off. Anna walked up to the front door and fished out her keys to open the door.
Was it a date?
