Anastasia opened her apartment door and found Laura sitting on the sofa, covered with a fleece blanket and gripping a pillow around her hands. She was still up watching a movie and dressed in her pj's. "Finally!" she laughed as she kicked off the blanket and slipped on her fluffy pink slippers. "I thought that he had taken you to his apartment and ravished you with his good looks and hot body!" she continued teasing Anna with the words that for sure made her get mad. "Heheh," she laught sarcasticly, "No." she replied, setting her laptop and folders on the kitchen island and taking off her boots. The moment she set her toes free, she groaned in relief and tossed both boots in the corner beside the door.
"So how was it?" Laura asked, taking a seat behind the table and rubbing her eyes, as she was almost falling asleep. "Wierd! He's crazy!" she laughed at their conversation in the diner and the way he looked at her when he said that he would kiss her if she made fun of him. "Crazy HOT?" she asked playfully. "That too, but most off all, he tried to kiss me again!" Anna answerd, taking off her jacket and walking toward her bedroom. Laura was still imagening James's hot naked body and then she realized what Anna had said. "Again? What do you mean, again?" she kicked herself of the chair and followed Anna to her bedroom.
Anastasia pulled her shirt over her head and opened the buttons on her jeans. "Remember few days ago, we went into the bar you dragged me and I was talking to a guy at the bar when Shaun came. Well, it was James. When we left outside, he crabbed me in for a kiss, when Shaun followed us outside. He pretended to be my boyfriend, so he could rescue me from Shaun." Laura's mouth dropped open and she couldn't belive what had happened. Mike knew, but Anna thought that he didn't tell Laura about him. "So you kissed that honk? How was it?" she asked, rubbing her lip, pictureing his lips on hers instead.
"He kissed me, I didn't kiss him back!" Anna retalieted, freeing herself from her clothes and walked to her bathroom to take her underwear off and slip into a bathrobe before hitting the shower.
"Why didn't you? These perfect lips, mmm, even thinking of them makes me squirm." Laura shook all over her body, pictureing that Irish god of love. "You should let him kiss you. Anna, you need a guy into your life. For pleasure and for getting over Shaun." Laura brushed Anna at her shoulder. "Yeah, a rebound guy! That's not going to be an option! He's too cocky, too arrogant and...!" She paused, but Laura filled the void: "Too sexy for you?" She made fun of her.
Anna turned away and took away her contact lenses. She placed them into the container and took her glasses. "He asked me, why I had to be so beautiful?" Anna walked up to the kitchen and took her computer back to her bedroom. "He's right. Come on, I know you want to jump his bones, Don't think, just do it." Laura popped on her bed and smiled at her wickedly. "What? No!" Anna replied with a higher pitch in her voice. "But by the way, you and Mike sound like to be jumping each other!" Anna opened her laptop on the desk and pushed the keys to insert her password. Laura's grin turned into a hard line on her lips. "How did you know?" she asked, her eyes pinned to Anna's gaze. "I saw you two eating each other in the bar the other day." She laughted.
Laura narrowed her eyes on her, "Oh...!" Anastasia walked up to her bathroom and grabbed a quick shower before turning back to her bedroom and dried off her hair with a towel. She flipped her still moist long hair over and they clinged to her neck and robe. "Why didn't you tell me that you and Mike were dating?" Laura squirmed on her bed. "I didn't want to tell you cause you were still getting over Shaun and I thought that bringing up my relationship with Mikey would hurt you!" She replied, twirling her fingers nervously.
And Anna noticed it. And she noticed something else; a golden ring on her finger. On that finger where special rings go to. She walked closer to her and took her hand. The ring was set upside down, diamond hidden. She turned it around and gulped: "Oh my god, Laura!" She took a deep breath in, holding her hand. "He proposed to you?" Laura blushed heavely, red running down from her cheeks to her cleavage.
"Yeah, a week ago!" Laura looked at the ring on her finger and almost started crying. "I was so happy, and I wanted to tell you, but I thought that I would wait for a better time to do that!" Anna crabbed her into her hold and tighened the grip around her. They were both sitting on the edge of her bed, crying. "I'm so happy for you! But wait, when are you getting married?" she asked while whiping away her tears. "In two months. Its going to be a small wedding and I would love you to be by my side when I claim the man I love!" Laura said throw her tears. "You want me to be your maid of honor?" Anna asked, cupping her hand, impressed and surprised. "Of course, I wouldn't imagine anyone else to do this for me than you!" She replied whiping her tears with a tissue.
Anna pintched herself and it wasn't a dream. Her bestfriend was getting married to the one man she honored so much and she knew that they would be the perfect couple. The wedding was in two months and Laura filled her in with details she had already planned. A small ceremony at a venue and dinner in a restaurant they loved to go with Mike. She was so happy for Laura. Anna lost her love, but Laura gained hers.
