The semester had ended and I had did remarkably well, thanks to all the pushing and motivational lectures of Yami. Only one think was left...the interviews. Most of us preferred jobs in banks. Well, almost all of us did.
Yami and I were sitting in our room, going through the list of banks that will be visiting the college for recruitment, deciding which will be the best.

"The MNO bank it is, right?", Yami asked.

"I am little doubtful about that since Abijeet is applying for the same.", I replied seriously.

"Oh come on. It's not like you both are going to be placed in the same branch. This is the best among the options we have.", Yami successfully convinced me.

All the applicants for the jobs were seated in alphabetical order, and my chance for the interview came soon as my name starts with A. The interview was successful, and I had bagged the job. I searched the queue of anxious applicants and spotted all my friends, except Abi.

Curiosity got the better of me and I approached the incharge for the event, who was standing with the list of applicants in her hand.

"Hi, could you check whether Mr. Abijeet is one of the applicant?", I asked nervously.

"He was Miss, but he had cancelled at the last moment due to some illness.", he replied.

"Do you know what illness?", I asked.

"Some illness which I was not notified, as I said before", she replied. The 'Thank you' which I gave her would not have been audible to her, as I had already started moving away from there, in search of Viji.

Viji was there in the queue, sitting nervously. I didn't wish to panic him. I decided to deal with this on my own. If he couldn't even attend the interview, the illness should have been serious. The very thought made me afraid.

As I decided to see Abijeet myself, Julie came before me.
