A week had passed after I had stepped foot in college. In these few days, I started liking our little group even more. I and Yami lived in the girls hostel while Viji lived in the boys hostel. The chocolate boy lived alone in a rented house near the college.

I was walking the short distance between our hostel and college with Yami. Yami was not her usual self. She seemed disturbed. I could not tolerate her unusual silence.

"Is something bothering you, Yams? You don't seem to be normal.", I voiced my thoughts. She looked at me. I could sense hesitation in her eyes. I held her hands and smiled at her, encouraging her to speak.

"I am in love, Abi.", she said at last. My heart sank hearing this. I had always imagined her and Viji together, like happily forever. 'Maybe it was just me. Neither of them had such feelings for each other'. As a friend, I was happy, whoever that guy is.

"Who that lucky guy is?", I asked out of true curiosity.

"Vijeesh", she replied in such a way that I could hardly hear her. I reached the point of bursting with happiness. I hugged her tight.

"I am so happy for both of my friends", I shrieked. "You fell in love with him in such a short period. Don't you think it is a little early?", I asked. I just wanted to make sure whether the feeling she has towards him is really love. Not that I didn't trust my friend. I didn't want her to experience the pain of falling for the wrong person.

"Love forms just at the instant we see our right guy", Yami paused to give me a smile and continued, "People take time to recognize it. I recognized it early. The sooner the better, right?"

This ideology seemed very queer for me who doesn't believe in first sight love. But something in her voice and eyes told me that she wouldn't and couldn't back away from this love.

"Could I be of any help? Would you, uh, like me to speak to Viji about, uh..", I stammered. I really was ready to do any kind of help.

"I am the one in love. I should be nervous and should be stammering.", she said smiling."Don't worry Abi, I have the power to speak to my love interest. I am just waiting for the right time."

We reached the college. I spotted the boys who were waiting for us near our regular meeting place. We had made it a habit to meet and chat before going to class. But, neither Yami nor I were in mood for a chat at that time.

"Guys, let's go to class early today.", I said and began to move on dragging Yami with me. The guys started to question, but recognizing how stubborn we are and how boring it would be to without us, they followed us to class.

I got seated in my regular place in the first bench. Abijeet was the next to enter the class after me. As he was heading for his usual bench he shared with Viji, I held his hand and pulled it slightly, bringing him to a halt.

"Sit here today", I said pointing to the seat beside me. He gave me a questioning look but eventually agreed.

Next I turned towards Yami who was standing beside me with a confused look in her face."Do you mind sitting beside Viji today Yams?", I asked and winked at her. She gave me an angry glare, but eventually went to sit beside Viji.

"The lecture is cancelled. Students are requested to carry on with any academic work", Our class representative said as quick as he could and practically ran to his seat.

None of my classmates were ready to do any academic work. Many were already laying out plans to spend the day blissfully.

"Take him out!", I whispered to Yami, taking precise care that the boys do not hear me. She just nodded.

In a few minutes Viji approached our bench." Yami feels like going out. I am going to accompany her. Do you guys wish to tag along?", he asked. "Idiot!", I scolded him in my mind.

"No! I actually have some works to do. You two enjoy.", I said with a smile. Abijeet, who seemed very eager to go, also declined the offer. Did he do that for me? Did he decline because I would be left alone if he went?', I brushed aside the torturous questions that erupted in my mind.

"Okay then. See you both later", said Viji and moved on with Yami by his side. I gave Yami thumbs up, for which she replied with a nervous smile.

"So, do you plan on keeping quiet the entire day? We could chat, you know.", said Abijeet after a few boring minutes ticked past.

"What could we two possibly talk about?", I asked quite arrogantly.

"About anything you feel talking about.", he replied. I kind of expected him to get annoyed.

"What do you think about Chetan Bhagat's recent book 'Half girlfriend'?", I asked with a smirk plastered on my face. I thought he would back off from the talk. By the looks of him, he didn't appear to be a voracious reader.

"The book was good but not great. You know, there were some knots in the book which the author forgot to explain. The conflict between the female protagonist and her father was not explained. The book would have been better. There were no turns and twists, and after a certain level the book was predictable. Other than that, I liked it", he replied coolly, taking me by surprise. He really didn't seem like a bookie person.

Even when Chetan Bhagat is a person I adore, I couldn't argue or oppose any of his points. I was astonished by his immense talent in scrutinizing.

I concluded that he is interesting. 'This day is not going to be boring', I thought and I couldn't help smiling.
