Memories and Train Rides

Stepping onto the train like they had done so many years ago, apart from Remus for who it was just two years ago, the friends each thought of the 14 train rides in seven years.

When they were friends, and before they were, during fights,  and during relationships, during pregnancies, and during newborns.

All of the marauders and the two unofficial members felt like they were 17 again, starting their last year together in school, but knowing their would be more times after they left.

They thought about their last train ride home and how they sat in the same compartment as always, but now they were closer than ever. They thought about when they were in third year and they were already planning pranks for fourth year because they had this year's pranks all planned out. They thought about all of the times they had been yelled at and given a detention before the school year had even started.  They though about screaming babies and crying uncles.

And, as they thought about all of these things, they realized that no matter what came their way, no matter who tried to break them apart, they would always be friends. But soon enough they would all be family, because Sirius Black had a plan all worked out with Dumbledore. But that plan was for later, right now they went to their compartment.

The same one where they had all met. The one where their had been fights and make-up hugs. The same one where Sirius had proposed to Rose at the same time James did to Lily and Remus to Delilah. The boys had planned it all out, from the rings to the time and place. A triple wedding was in order too. Of course, no one suspected less of the boys who had become brothers. But Sirius and Rose never showed up, the reason was evident nine months later when the newest member of the family showed up, Dawn Black. Now, as they stepped into the same compartment as they had all those years ago, they each smiled in remembrance of the day all of their lives changed for the better.

-Flashback-

Rose, Delilah, and James were all running to the platform. They were so excited for their first year it wasn't even funny. Rose was the first to reach the platform barrier and so she was the first to go through. Just as she went through, she ran into a guy with long black hair and rock solid abs. Even if he was only 11.

"Hello Beautiful. My name is Sirius Black. What's yours?" Sirius said with a heart-breaking, troublemaker smirk.

"Number one, don't call me that. Number two, I'm trying to get to the train." She said replicating his trouble maker smirk.

"Come with me beautiful. Let's find a compartment."

They walked until they got to the last compartment. When they looked inside, the saw James, Delilah, a short boy with ratish features and a boy with caramel hair were sitting there talking to the two potters.

James looked up and saw Rose with a unknown boy. He gestured for them to come in and they did so.

They walked in and started talking realizing that they had a lot in common.

Before long, a girl with red hair and emerald green eyes came into the compartment with a boy with greasy black hair.

Things started off well enough but then James got a little miffed when the boy, named Severus, started talking badly about Gryffindor. A fight broke out and the girl, named Lily, and Severus left. The rest of the train ride was filled with talking about hopes and dreams for the future.

-Flashback Over-

As each of them thought of this memory from a different angle, they smiled at the time they each meet each other. They all thought about how they had everything they wanted from each other. All of their hopes and dreams had come true. Each of them becoming important to each other. All of them becoming family.

And just then, the train pulled into hogsmead station. And the old friends started the journey from so long ago.
