JADE:
School had just ended and I lean on Isaac as we exit the building towards the main entrance.
After lunch Kris and Jayden had separated from Isaac and I as they had another "class" ,or so they said, but if I'm honest I don't buy it. I think there is something going on because Kris seemed like he was in a bit of a hurry with Jayden and I honestly don't believe they are the type to hurry to class.
Let alone rush early to class. Nevertheless I shrugged it off and went along with it it's probably for my own good anyway.
Unlike Jayden, Isaac is a lot more patient and actually listens regarding my stance on not being carried. We spent the class doing a lot of work before we actually had a proper conversation.
"Isaac where are we going?" I ask because I'm quite certain that this is in the opposite direction to the main exits. There is nobody other than me and Isaac here.
"The main exit, just taking a short cut because of your leg." he replies nonchalantly as the pathway starts to get darker with the number of trees lining the path.
Okay now I'm getting a little freaked out. It's not that I dislike nature and whatnot; it's just that it seems like we could easily get lost and I could fall again considering how much of a klutz I am.
"I'm not going to fall right?" I ask in a serious tone
Isaac chuckles before shaking his head.
A few minutes later we exit the secluded path into the swarms of people and it's like a human traffic jam.
I'm surprised and selfishly happy about the fact that no one seems to know about the short cut. Isaac notices me pull a face. Even though it was only for a second.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing" I lie
"Okay" he replies casually
"Is it bad or selfish that I'm happy no one knows about the short cut?" I blab out
Isaac just smiles before saying
"no. It's human; just because you don't want to share one thing does not make you selfish."
I nod feeling reassured.
Isaac takes me to the office and I lean against the shockingly warm couch
"Isaac you can go y'know. My mum is going to pick me up." I mention
"I'll wait with you. I don't have much to do anyway."
I look at him gratefully but still deny the offer. I have a feeling I'll be waiting a while and I don't want him to worry or waste his time over me so, without any room for argument I make him go.
He waves cheerfully and slightly hesitant as he reaches the glass doors but I send him a cheerful wave back encouraging him to go and he does.
----------
Three hours .
Three hellish hours I have been waiting for someone to pick me up.
I've just been kicked out of the warm reception because they're closing up now and the lady sends me a cold look as I limp out. I wonder who pissed in her cereal.
The building looks unreal as the sun slowly starts to descend colouring it in pinks and orange hues despite the beauty it looks pretty daunting especially being here alone.
I pull my scarf tighter around my neck and hug my sweater in the hopes of warming up a little as the cool breeze steals some of my precious body heat.
I sigh. I don't know how many times I've sighed in the past hour. If only I knew how to get home, even a brief idea so that I could've gotten somewhere. Mum probably got carried away with her work alongside dad. I scream in to the stuffy silence annoyed.
"Why? Why is it so hard for them to simply remember to pick me up?!"
JAYDEN:
I wanted to go out for a jog all day today and I'm glad I have come out now to go for a run. I like the feel of the breeze while watching the sun slowly descend from its position, colouring the sky in different shades of pink and orange.
