JADE:
After what seems like an hour I open my eyes.
First my left then my right.
Jonghyun?!"Was that you just now?" I blurt out.
"Depends which one of the two you're talking about." He replies seriously
"The one who stopped the cree-"
"Yes. I am your knight in shining armour." He smirks his expression instantly playful.
I attempt rolling my eyes while simultaneously send an appreciative smile to him... I fail at it.I never expected Jonghyun to sound so intimidating. I shake off the thought as the throbbing momentarily spikes; I feel like someone has just kicked my head repeatedly.
I groan and clutch my head, why can't the throbbing stop? Why? Why me?
"You don't look so good." Jonghyun notes worried.
"Nah, I'm okay..."
"You're pale and your eyes seem sunken in. You're clutching your head and you are shivering in that massive coat and that's not even half of it.... Yea you're totally fine!"
I don't have the energy to reply. I'm too tired... so very tired.
"We should head to class soon fruitcake."
"Fruitcake?" I think it sounded like a question but really I don't know I feel to stiff and weak to give expression or emotion to my words.
"I like fruit cake so why not."
"M'kay."
"What's your first lesson?"
"Dunno"Jonghyun laughs and goes through my bag to reach my planner which I think has my time table. I'm not really sure; my mind is absolutely, most definitely frozen. We manage to get to class and I walk mechanically constantly sniffling to keep my bloody snot in my nose.
Jonghyun sends me a sympathetic smile and is off to, I think, his next class. I walk straight over the radiator and smile a little at the heat.Everyone has sat down now; Jayden hasn't even bothered looking at the teacher who has just entered and faces me, nodding me over to him but I refuse to move from this heavenly heat.
"Miss Blue what are you doing?"
"I. Am. C-" I cut myself off with a sneeze that could have just destroyed everything in this room with it's power snatching away my voice with it.The class laughs, even the teacher smiles. I don't feel happy though. The throbbing in my head has't minimised much and my throat aches. It feels like a desert while my nose feels is a swamp; not only making my nose run but also making it difficult to breath. The only way for me to gain any oxygen is my mouth and I keep coughing every 2 minutes.
Wow.
Who knew you could get ill so quickly.
The teacher thankfully leaves me be stealing heat from the radiator and starts talking to the class about the biology assignment she set.
Jayden has turned back facing the teacher and I use the time now to take in his appearance. He looks well, unlike me, and all round good as usual. He wears a 'The North Face' black, pullover hoodie, Black jeans and black trainers.
I let my mind wander to wherever because seriously if I start to talk it will come out messed. Is it just me that loses the ability to form coherent sentences when ill, angry or flustered?
The class I am in is a biology lab.
White Marble desks set out in rows are paired with sky blue stools. The majority of the room is white and looks somewhat like a sterile hospital room but then again, it is a lab. At the front of the class a white board, smart board and around the room is the taps, sinks and all other apparatus used in a lab such as the microscopes.I feel a gaze on me pulling me back to reality. I sigh quietly and start moving towards one of the large whiteboards for an activity task that I need for what Miss Carter has set me with my partner... who is watching me intently now... who is the one and only Jayden.
Even with an ear blocked I manage to hear one of my classmates say
"she won't be able to get passed with the board."
I ignore it and carry on with my personal mission of reaching Jayden without further embarrassing myself including falling. Everyone seems to be watching me including the teacher with amusement.
What mean people they are. This isn't some sort of show!
I almost make it without further embarrassing myself. Key word being almost. I happen to hit the whiteboard against the very guy who said it wouldn't pass, I do that not once but twice!
A few chuckles sound from some of the students and I scowl at the people who are currently laughing at my and this poor dudes expense.
