JADE:

The winter sun slips out behind a cotton candy cloud colouring the courtyard in brighter shades of green, caramel and beige as it does so.

I feel myself shiver through the 4 layers of clothing I managed to wrap myself up in this morning.

Despite the cold, I don't intend to make a move from my seat on the oak bench carved with Kris's name on it.

My fingers trace the outline of the smooth italics. I can imagine Kris carving into the bench almost delicately. A soft sigh escapes at the thought of Kris... where has he been? I haven't seen or heard from Kris or Jayden since Tuesday.

I pull out my phone texting a quick "Are you alive?" to both Kris and Jayden.

'sort yourself out!' I quietly order myself in an attempt to take my mind off the two.

I find a small smile slip onto my face as Krystal, Jonghyun and Isaac saunter into my line of sight.

Jong Hyun teasing Krystal as usual. I wonder if she sees the way his eyes soften when he's looking at her.

Shifting my attention on to Isaac I wave him over, allowing Jong and Krystal some alone time. Isaac picks up his pace till he's sat beside me.

Handing me my lunch we lapse into a comfortable silence.

"Are you alright Jade?" Isaac asks slowly turning to gage my reaction.

I pat his shoulder, smiling at his concern.

"I'm a big girl Isaac. I'm okay and besides if Sheya starts a fight I'll end it, if she wants to talk we can talk."

Although I initially had a bad feeling about Sheya I don't intend to go out of my way to spite her. I have decided I will reciprocate her behavior towards me. If she wants to be civil, I will be civil. If not then I guess not.

I almost feel pity for her but her ability to pick at the little insecurity I suppress prevents me from doing so.

"You know she feels inferior. It's why Sheya is so cruel to you. She doesn't like seeing herself below anyone." Isaac says it so softly I almost miss it.

I recall all the events that have taken place between Sheya and I. I had assumed her behavior was solely basis of her envy towards me for being so close to the guys but looking back now, perhaps it wasn't just that.

Krystal and Jong Hyun's argument pulls me out of my thoughts. I chuckle alongside Isaac at their playful interaction.

"Oh yea fruitcake! I have a surprise for you so listen closely okay." Jong announces startling me.

"Okay go ah-" the loud clicking of heels making contact with the tarmac pathway diverts my attention. My feet move on their own accord and I yell a quick "I'll be back" as I follow the clicking.

"Sheya!" I call out.

She freezes allowing me to catch up to her form.

"Can we talk?" I see hesitance flicker across her face, she stares at me almost in search of something.

"I'd rather not, what do you want?" Despite her objection her tone suggests otherwise. She seems tired.

"I know you've been saying things about me again and I would like for you to stop but if you aren't going to I'd like to at least get an explanation as to why you despise me so much."

"Why do you act like you don't know?" she glowers

"You say it is because of the guys but I do not understand how their decision to befriend me results in me having wronged you..." I trail off
