KRIS:
I feel my muscles tense as I search through the halls for Jade or Sheya. If Sheya's lucky she won't see me... or any of the guys and Krystal. If she's smart she'll manage to avoid us.
The other guys having split up with me in order to help sort out this situation. The video Sheya had circulated seemed to have spread like a virus... pings as most phones through the dining hall including our tables received it. That is excluding me.
The odd thing is that not even a minute later the video started to glitch and the filthy editing seems to fall away leaving a video of Jade just dancing in the school hall, even though I think it's okay... even a little cute I know other people won't.
One belief I have always had: Do not expect anything off people, for expectation sets you up for disappointment. The only exception being for very few people.
people will twist this, make it worse, just to talk about something.
Even if it is absolute crap. The spotlight and the attention they crave making it somehow acceptable in their twisted minds to go and destroy another's life.
People constantly fight to climb this 'social ladder' blind of what really matters in life.
At the end of the day, this will be gone.
At the end of the day, none of this will be worth anything and those that 'work' so hard for something so frivolous will have nothing. Because eventually someone else will come and replace them, because their characters are disgusting and their friends will be fake only trying to cheat them and take their position.
I speak from witnessing.
This is why I hate this place.
I catch Jade and Ayesha just down the corridor; the first thing I notice being Jade's grimace followed by Ayesha's sombre expression. I feel my gaze soften taking in the two.
Why do the ones that least deserve it suffer the most?
Jade disappears into the bathroom and I take deep breath making sure to keep my anger from seeping into my tone.
"what happened."
Ayesha's expression remains serious yet calm. "I assume you saw the video."
I clench my jaw restraining myself from snapping at her and nod instead. It isn't Ayesha's fault, she is not who my anger is supposed to be directed to.
"Sheya seems to have been blackmailing Jade, or bullying her, most likely to stay away from you guys; I guess Jade snapped and so did Sheya. I've made sure the video is gone from her phone and removed all the editing but that was all I could do. Excuse me now, I need to go pick up my brother." Her matter-of-fact tone tells me all I needed to hear.
