Chapter 6, Contemplating

It had been 2 days since I last talked to Ethan or Grayson. Okay, I didn't expect Ethan to say something to me when I walked past him in school, but I had hoped that Grayson would at least say 'Hey' or something. He just gave me a small smile every time we crossed paths.

"Katie, I'm going out! Will be back late this night, so don't stay up waiting for me!" My mum was going out with some of her new colleagues. I was happy that she had made new friends, but I just wished that I could say the same. I wasn't used to this "making new friends" thing. I had friends back in LA, we had known each other for as long as I could remember. Talking 'bout my friends, I should really give Marcus a call.

"Hey Marcus." It felt nice to hear his voice, it had been a pretty long time and I realized that I had really missed him.

"Hey Katie. What's up?"

We kept talking about everything. I told him about the God himself -Ethan-, about my school, the three weird-named buildings and ofcourse I told him about my sprained finger. After almost an hour, I hung up the phone, preparing to go to bed. Or, at least, that's what I intended to do.

A strange noise kept me from doing so. It sounded like someone was throwing something against the house, trying to hit my window. I decided to ignore it and went back into the bathroom, but was stopped in my path when I heard the noise again, only harder this time.
When I looked outside my window, I saw someone standing in my front lawn. What the fuck was this guy doing here? My mind immediately started thinking of all sorts of things that could possibly happen. Would that weird guy storm in to my house and rape me? Would he try and kill me? Is he just at the wrong house or does the guy want to talk to me?

Without thinking about it any further, I opened my window, only getting missed by a rock within just a few inches.
"What the fuck, dude?!" My voice echoed through the, already sleeping, neighbourhood. I tried to get a better look at him, but my eyes just couldn't get used to the dark.

"I'm so sorry, Katie! I didn't mean to hit you!" Wait, that voice sounded way too familiar. It couldn't be him, could it?

"Just come inside instead of standing there like a total creep in the dark!" I made my way downstairs. Why on earth was he here?

My mind was running wild and I was seriously contemplating if I should open my door or leave him standing there. Going against my conscience, I opened the door, adoring every piece of him while he made eye-contact with me.

"Wanna go on an adventure with me?" He asked with a grin on his face.
