10. Mikey

Chapter 10, Mikey

"Mikey?" I asked again, still processing the thoughts of him standing in front of me.

"Hey Katie," He rubbed his arm whilst letting out a small chuckle, "surprised to see me?"

"Ehm, yeah!" I threw my arms around him, still not knowing what to say. "What are you doing here?"

Let me quickly explain who Mikey is. His name is Mikey Murphy and yes this guy is one of those guys that everyone wants to be friends with. Not 'cause he's this popular dude, but because he's one of the best friends that you can imagine. He was there for me through everything, and yes of course I had Marcus, but Mikey and our friendship back then was on a whole other level.
I forgot to mention Mikey because I kinda lost contact with him when I moved to NJ. He was busy with his Youtube channel and I was busy with moving so we just went our separate ways, I guess. I didn't forget about him though, I just never got the chance to call him to see how everything was going back there in LA.
I've known him as long as I can remember. He's one year older than me and he's really mature, but can act like a seven year old too, which is adorable to be honest. We used to date –years ago- but broke up because our relationship as lovers wasn't the same as our relationship as friends. We were more in love with the thought of loving someone rather than actually being in love.

"I'm on a short vacation with some friends. I didn't know that I'd bump into you though." He smiled that familiar, hearth-warming smile.

"It's so nice to see you again."

*Ethan's pov*

An advantage of looking older than you actually are: you can get alcohol in a club, even when you aren't 16 years old. I grinned as I passed the beers to all my friends. Aaron and Jack sat on the left of me and Grayson sat on my right.

I couldn't help it the other moment, I just had to say something to her. It brought some sort of joy upon me to see her mad and when I tapped her shoulder and saw her face, it took me so much to hold in my laughter.
Okay, maybe it was a little harsh of me to say those things on Monday. But still, it was pretty funny to see her walking away so pissed off.

"Earth to Ethan." Aaron pushed me and made me spill some of my beer.

"Hm, sorry, what were you saying?" They always talked about the most random things. Their conversations could go from a hot chick to how to not let your plants die in 0.1 seconds. I can't even keep my cactus alive, so I just listen when they talk about plants. (A/N: who also sucks in keeping your plants alive bc I do)

"I said: dude, who is that guy?" Jack pointed to Katie hugging some guy whom I had never seen. Who the fuck is he? Why is he hugging her and talking to her like he knows her? He wouldn't be hugging her if he didn't know her, right? How does he know her?

"Don't know, but Imma find out right now." I stood up, rocking my chair to the ground. "God damnit"

How was I going to find out who this guy was without it being creepy or weird? No idea. Why do I care? No idea. Should I just go up to her and start talking to her? Nah, that's just weird.
Maybe I could do some mega awesome ninja tricks and listen in on their conversation without being too obvious.

Could I walk past them without Katie noticing me? I quickly covered most of my face with my hood and walked up to the bar, my back was facing Katie and the unknown guy. I should be able to hear their conversation from up here.

"You haven't really missed anything since you moved. Except me, of course." I bet he winked whilst saying that. What a douche.

This is a little update so it's a pretty short chapter, sorry!!

My exams are coming up so I'll try and write when I can but I can't promise anything.
