Infinity - 6

During the week, leading up to Friday, I manage to get Nicole's friend, Jennifer, and my mate, Louis, to work with me and plan out a date for Nicole and I. I explained that my cooking skills are absolutely horrid to Jennifer, since Louis already knew, and she suggested that I could either find a friend that can cook really well or order in. I decide on ordering in, not knowing if any of my friends can cook and not wanting to bother them with it. I'm sure my friends have their own plans on a Friday night. All Jennifer has to do is make sure Nicole gets ready then send her over here by seven. Louis is helping me pick where to order from and helping me set everything up for the two of us.

"Mate, thanks for everything." I tell Louis as we set the plates on my small table.

"It's not a problem. You deserve some happiness after the shit Kelly put you through." He explains then looks at his phone. "It's nearly six. Better go get ready." He pats my shoulder, sends me a grin then sees himself out. I take in a deep breath, the nervousness I have for tonight settling in.

I really want and plan to impress Nicole. Nothing is going to mess tonight up.

I finish getting dressed just as there's a knock at the door. I check the time to see that it's just a bit before seven. I quickly throw on some shoes that go with my outfit before shuffling to the front door. I take in a deep breath then release it before opening the door, revealing Kelly instead of Nicole.

"What're you doing here?" I ask, my hands closing into tight fists.

"I wanted to check on you. Louis isn't answering my messages." She replies, trying to get inside but I stop her.

"I have plans tonight, Kelly." I inform her. "Please, leave."

"No thanks for coming to check on you? Seriously?" She questions. "I drove two hours from my parents place just to see you."

"That really sounds like a personal problem." I say, rolling my eyes as I become more annoyed by the minute. "You drove the two hours here. You can drive the two hours back."

"I thought that we could spend a couple hours talking ourselves." She says. "C'mon, babe. You know you miss me probably more than I miss you."

"I really doubt it because I'm not the one showing up at your doorstep after a two-hour drive." I snap. "I asked you nicely to leave already. Why do you always have to have your way?"

"I've always gotten my way and I'm not going to stop now just because of a mistake I made and because you think you need time." She responds, tucking her hair behind her ear. "I just want to talk to you, Harry." I try to keep calm but it's taking all I have in me not to start yelling at her right now. When I go to respond, I see Nicole come up behind Kelly. My eyes flick from her back to Kelly, knowing that she's probably really upset that Kelly is here.

"Harry, calm down. I'm fine." Nicole speaks, causing Kelly to whip her head in Nicole's direction. "I've heard the entire conversation, pretty much."

"Why the hell are you here?" She asks her as Nicole steps up onto the small porch.

"I was invited, unlike you." Nicole replies.

"Just friends, huh?" Kelly looks back to me. I let out an aggravated breath then look back to Nicole, who looks stunning in her black, knee-length dress, flats, and makeup plus hair all done beautifully.

"Come in, please." She smiles towards me then steps inside beside me. "You look amazing."

"She looks horrendous." Kelly comments, rolling her eyes as she crosses her arms over her chest.
