Nicole continued to insist that her birthday is no big deal and that I shouldn't make a big deal out of it but I continued to argue with her on the subject, pestering her until she got aggravated with me.

"Harry, please don't make a fuss over my birthday. It's nothing too important."

"I don't want anything special or big. I just want to spend it with my close friends, Nat, and you."

"Please, babe. I don't even want any presents. Just some ice cream cake will be fine."

Her words continuously ring in my head but I just couldn't get the thought of throwing her a small party to go away. She deserves to celebrate her birthday in a special way.

I decide to throw her a party anyway so I unlock my phone and dial Louis' number, waiting patiently until he picks up.

"Hey, mate." He says, greeting me.

"Hi." I reply. "Look, Nicole's birthday is today and I need your help with the party."

"Alright." He hums. "What can I help with?"

"Just invite the mates and get them over here before six tonight, okay?" I inquire, making sure he's got it.

"Sounds simple enough. I'll get right on it." We say our goodbyes then I hang up before dialing Mum's number.

"Hello, sweetie." She says.

"Hi, mum. Can I ask for a favor?" I question.

"Of course." She replies. "What's the favor?"

"Do you think you can bring me some decorations? It's Nicole's birthday and I'm throwing her a birthday party. I just-"

"Tell me what time and I'll be there." She interrupts.

"Before six. And get Gem to come as well, please." I inform her.

"Will do, love."

"Thank you, mum."

I manage to get Nicole's friends plus the small group Louis invited over at my house all before six o'clock. And I get a large ice cream cake to my house before then as well, just as Nicole had requested. Since Jennifer was watching Natalia, she's over here already so that's all the people Nicole wanted to celebrate her birthday with, just plus some.

"Everyone, she's here!" Darcy whisper-yells to us since she was the one to watch for Nicole. Everyone manages to find a hiding spot, except for me since I'm going to meet her at the door. When knocks are heard at the door, I walk over to it and pull it open. Nicole sends me a warm smile then steps in.

"Hi." She says as I wrap my arm around her waist.

"Hello, love." I reply. "Tired?" I make it seem like it's a normal conversation as I guide her further into the house. When everyone greets her with a unison of 'Surprise!', she jumps and screams simultaneously as she grabs my arm.

"We made Mommy scream!" Natalia giggles, causing everyone else to chuckle at her remark.

"You all scared me." Nicole replies, letting go of my arm as she scans the room. "A surprise party?" She questions, glancing back to me.

"Yeah, just for you." I reply. "I even got an ice cream cake like you wanted."

"You do realize that you'll have to introduce some of these people, right?" She asks, more in a whisper.

"I will, love." I nod then Natalia runs up to her. Nicole picks the child up and she kisses her mum's cheek.

"Happy birthday, Mommy!"

"It is a happy birthday, Nat. It really is."

"Nicole, let me introduce you to some of my other friends." I tell her after I've swept her away from talking to Jennifer.

"Okay. Are you close with these guys?" She inquires.

"Yes." I nod. "I try to keep in touch with them as much as I can and hang out as much as possible but we've all got jobs."

"Ahh, I see." She notes before we walk up to my friends. Nic sends them the sweetest, friendly smile then I begin to talk.

"Hey, you guys." I say. "This is Nicole. Nicole, this is Liam, Niall, Michael, Calum, and Luke." I introduce her, pointing to each boy as I call them out.

"Wow, okay, that's a lot of names." She remarks, gaining chuckles all around. "It's nice to meet you all."

"Harry's told me about you a bit." Liam remarks, grinning slightly. "I'm happy my mate found you."

"Yeah, seems you've been really great for him." Michael steps in next. My cheeks redden, regretting of ever informing these boys that I enjoy Nicole a lot more than I should.

"Blushing mate, huh?" Niall stifles a laugh. Nicole casts her gaze to me, causing my face to heat up even more.

"Aw, you're so cute." Nicole remarks, holding back some giggles, then leans up and kisses my cheek.

"C'mon, Nicole, let's go somewhere else before my face can get any more red." I say, pulling her away from the boys.

"By the way, Harry." Luke calls out, causing me to stop in my tracks. "Ashton apologizes for not being able to make it. He had a family matter to attend to."

"Tell him it's no problem." I reply before pulling Nicole away from everybody.

"Glad that you've talked so greatly about me." She laughs, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Well, you're pretty amazing so how can I not talk greatly about you?" I remark, causing her face to turn crimson. "Aw, now you're the cute one."

"Oh, hush."

After mingling, eating cake, and opening a few presents, the party ends and everyone but Nicole and Natalia have headed home.

I've now managed to clean up most of the mess. Well, we have since Nicole insisted on helping with the cleaning up. I told her and told her not to worry about it but she insisted anyway. She's pretty stubborn when it comes to getting her way.

"Thank you, again, Harry." She says as she tosses Nat's diaper bag over her shoulder. "It really was fun."

"Well, I'm glad you had such a fun time." I reply. "Did my present fit you?" I ask, thinking about the necklace that I got for her.

"Yes, it did." She pulls it out from where it had slipped underneath her shirt. "It's a beautiful necklace but I told you that you didn't-"

"I know what you said but I wanted to get you something." I interrupt. "I can't help it. I like to spoil you."

"Well, I love it so thank you tons." She gives me a big hug and a passionate kiss before saying goodbye, picking Natalia up, and heading out of the door to go home.
