Bad/Good News

Five months later
Summer time

Mar and I been doing some reading looking into ways to get pregnant.

One day I gotten a call from Dr.Wilson, he told me my test results we're in and he wanted me to come in. I told him I will be there tomorrow.

The next day

I dropped Mar and Benji off for summer school. Then I made my way to the doctors office. Parked and went inside.

Gave rue secretary my name, she let Dr.Wilson know I was here. Couple minutes later I was in his office. Sat across from him.

"Give it to me straight doc, can I have a baby?" I said, saw the look he had on his face.

He sigh deeply and said "no, your body is not strong enough to handle it, very slim chance of you or the baby surviving if you do carry."

My heart instantly fell outta my chest, my eyes began getting watery and all. Shaking a bit.

"I'm soo sorry, Kournell I know how you really wanted to but...." he said

"Thank you for telling me, doc...I...I gotta go." I said as I sniff softly
I got up and left the office. Got in the truck and rode on out. Went for a long drive than I head to the school.

I text Benji to come outside and don't tell Mar. Couple seconds later he came out saw me and jogged on over to me.

"Hey what's up." He ask

I gave him the keys as I said "give the keys to Mar, gonna be home later."

He looked at me can tell something was wrong.

"What's wrong?" He ask

"Just need to be alone for awhile ima be home later." I said. I kissed his forehead and walked away as I looked at my cell and send the voice message I recorded to Mar.

A minute later

Mar's cell went off she was in her office when she saw i sent her a voice message she smiled and put her ear piece in. She pressed play, her smile went to a frown as she listened.

Message: hey Mar, had a real bad morning and um...just got me upset and I'm ahh...just need to be alone for awhile, would've call or came to you and told...I just... I just need to be by myself for a moment. I love you forever and I'll see you at... I dropped the truck off and gave the keys to Benji."

"What?" Mar said as she heard the last part.

She got up and rushed out of her office her good co-worker/friend Jennifer saw her

"Mary you ok? " she asked

Mar saw Benji walking to the door, she ran out to him saw the keys in his hands looked saw her truck in her parking spot. She jogged looking around. Jennifer came outside.

Mar looked had slant her eyes had saw me up the street standing.

"Koy!" She shouts as she jogged

"Koy!" I kept my head down as I heard her. She begin to run as she saw the bus coming.

The bus came to a stop in front of me, I got on it.

"Koy!" Mar yell, the driver looked at than at me.

"Just drive." I said, sniffing he closed the door and drove away. I went and sat down.

Mar just stood there with tears in her eyes. Saw she watched me.
Benji and Jennifer saw the whole thing. Mar walked back to the school Jennifer came held Mar took her inside they went to a private room.

Mar sat in the chair in shock was frozen. Benji saw Mar's cell in her hand he slowly took it and listened to the message Jennifer listened too.

After awhile they went home.

9pm

I came walking up the driveway was a lil drunk, came inside the house. I walked down the hall saw Mar in the kitchen waiting for me.

"How could you just do that huh leave like that." She said

"I needed to be alone." I said

She came stood in my way as she said "why, why you leave."

We got into it. Than i just pinned her to the wall and kissed her.
Then Mar pushed me off

*smack* she slapped me, I looked at her.

"You're drunk...til you're ready to be my wife and tell me why, yo ass is sleeping on the couch." Mar said, she went to our bedroom crying.

I slammed my hands on the wall.

I walked in the room and hour and a half later fully sobered up. Mar was crying a bit. I walked over to her side.

"Mar." I said, she rolled over didn't want to look at me. I sat down on the bed. Sigh deeply.

"Doc called, my results were in, I...I can't have a baby...my body's not strong to carry it full term."

Mar rolled over and sat up

"If I do make it full term there's a chance I or the baby won't survive." I said with tears coming down my face.

"Why didn't you tell me, I would've been there with you." Mar said sniffing.

"I know, I'm soo sorry...just needed a moment to myself, I really wanted us to have a baby Im so sorry, Mar." I cried.

Mar held me in her arms. We held each other as we laid down. Cried ourselves to sleep. Benji was softly crying, he heard everything.

Two days later

Mar and I both were at the doctors office. Dr.Wilson wanted to see us.

He began telling us we can have a baby with both Mar's and I genes.
We looked at him confused he begin explaining it how it works and what Mar will have to do.

"What are the possibilities, chances doc, if I do this?" Mar ask

"90 percent, done this several times all succeeded." He ans.
Mar and I looked at each other held my hand

"It's up to you, Mar, I ain't going no where." I said.

"We try and pray." Mar said, .she smiled and looked at Dr.Wilson

"Okay, let's do it." Mar said with a smile.

He smiled and began going over some things with us.
