The Call

Saturday Afternoon

Mar POV

i was sitting on a big sheet on the grass,  in the backyard. My wife and i playing around with our sons. just laughing and smiling. i looked at Koy, and just smiled at her staring into her eyes. She smiled at me, grabbed a hold of the side of my neck. massage it a bit we lean towards each other and kiss.

"i love you." i smile

"i love you more." she smiled we kissed again.

As we was playing around, two men in their army suits came walking in the backyard. They stood by the gate staring at us. Beni stopped playing as he saw them

"mom, there's someone here." he said.

We turned our heads, our smiles disappeared as we saw them. i looked at Koy. she clenched her jaws saw her vein popping out a bit. she got up and walked on over to them.

The boys cont playing around, I stared at Koy and the two men. saw her face expressions, couldn't make out the words that were being exchanged. one of them gave her a envelope. Saw Koy drop her head as she took it than she looked at them and nod her head. they salute each other and left on out.

Koy looked at me for a quick moment and went inside the house. i got up

"come on, babies time for a nap." i said

i grabbed the sheet rolled it up in my arms and we went in the house. i slid the door shut,
Beni and Prince went to their rooms.

"i'll check in on you two in a few." i said

i walked to the kitchen, saw Koy holding herself had her hand over her mouth leaning against the counter. she looked at me than at the island counter. I saw the opened letter, i placed the sheet on the stool as i walked up. grabbed the letter and begin reading it.
My eyes widen as i saw they were calling Koy back in for important mission overseas. i looked at her

"No." i said

"I have to." Koy said

"No, you don't...you can't, please..." i said getting teary, shaking my head was getting red.

Koy came up to me, stared into my eyes and said "i have to, Mar they can and will force me...i am not gonna have them come up in our home and drag me away in front of you or my sons."

"I can't lose you, i...i just can't." i begin to cry.

she pulled me to her, and held me in her arms.

"you won't lose me, baby you won't." she said

i held onto her tight as i said "promise me you'll be safe and come back home...promise me."

"i promise you i will be home, i promise you." she said.

we held each other as we cried softly.

Thursday

We all was at the army base airstrip. Koy was wearing her uniform. she hugged her twin, her mom. came to Beni, he handed her, her hat. she saw that he had taped our family picture inside her hat.

"so we'll always be with you." Beni said, Koy sniff softly and hugged him

"take care of mama and Prince, til i get back." she said looking at him. he nod his head, she kissed his forehead.

she hugged and kissed Prince, than she stood in front of me. we stared at her. i was trying real head to be strong for our sons. Then she grabbed a hold of the side of my neck. and pulled me to her. the side of our cheeks touched each others

"remember our promise." Koy whisper. i nod my head, as i held the side of her neck.

we looked at each other and french kissed for a moment. than we hugged each other so tight.

"i love you forever." i softly cry

"i love you ever and ever, Mar...i will come back to you." she said.

Than she grabbed her bag, put it on her shoulder and begin walking to the plane, when she got there she looked back at us. she kissed her hand and place it over her heart. i kissed my hand and place it over my heart as i nod at her. Beni and Prince held onto me as we watch her get on the plane. we watched it take off than we went on home.

i was lying in my bed, was missing my heart. Than my sons came and got on the bed they lay beside me. i was in the middle. they lay their heads on my shoulders. i wrapped my arms around them and held them close to me. They too was missing their mami. we ended up falling asleep.
