Waiting to Exhale

Two weeks later

I was leaning against the fence watching my son do his thang on the football field. he was killing it, made all of his plays.

he dash a 25 yard dash and threw the ball, the other player barely caught it.

"damn, he got a arm." one of the parents said.

i smirk as i nod my head a bit.

After try outs

i was leaning against the truck, waiting for Benji to come out. he came out ran to me

"i made the team!" he shouted

he jumped in my arms. i laughed as i held him. had put him down.

"congrats, B." i smiled

"got the running back, coach says i play first game." he smile

"alright now." i smiled

"thanks for helping me, ma." he said

we hugged as i said "anytime, son."

we got in the truck and rode on home.
i pulled up in the driveway Benji looked at me

"let's get mama." he smirk, i chuckled as i nod my head.

we got out, Benji took a moment to get some fake tears coming out his eyes. i shook my head and we went inside the house.

Mar was sitting on the couch, Prince was asleep next to her. she heard us.

"heyy, how was it?" Mar asked

we walked out of the hallway, i had my hand on Benji's shoulder

"it's okay, son...you did good." i said pretending to sooth him.

Mar saw him crying and softly gasps. she saw Benji didn't make the team, she knew how much he wanted to be on the team.

"come here baby." Mar said holding out her arms.

Benji walked on over to him, she held him in her arms, rubbing his back as he cried.

he was doing a hell of a bomb ass job with them tears.

"i'm so sorry, baby i know how much you wanted to join the team." Mar said

"i was good, mama...i trained so hard." he cried, he looked at her

"i was good, i know i was...i...i was so good, that i made the team and we just played you." he smiled

Mar gasps as he said that. saw me dying of laughter against the wall.

"y'all mean, had me finna cry." Mar said as she pout her lips.

"I'm sorry mama, but i had to do that." Benji smiled he hugged Mar.

"congrats baby." Mar smiled

"go shower so we can get some ice cream." i said smiling

Prince woke up and said "ice cream...where." he looked around, we chuckled softly

Benji went to go shower, i sat down next to Mar on the couch.

"y'all is such goofballs." Mar smirk

"yea, but we're yo goofballs." i smiled i lean towards her and kissed her. hugging her and all.

"ay no love for me." Prince smiled
we chuckled, Mar grabbed him and sat him on my lap

"you want some love, here you go." Mar smiled.

we tickled him he squeal and laughed. as we kissed him also.

After that we all got in the truck and went out for some ice cream. we gotten what we wanted, had walked around the park eating our ice cream laughing and talking.

On our way home we saw a lot of folks at Samantha's old house. saw a big sign it says "everything must go, everything five dollars"

i parked along side the curb we all got out, walked across the street. we looked around had saw her father standing in the garage. we walked up to him he saw us

"hey, y'all." he smiled

"heyy." we said

"what's going on here?" I asked

"well let's just say Sam and my wife was watching "waiting to exhale" the other night...and you know." he ans

"ahhh, i hear ya." we said. we chuckled a bit. Samantha came out saw us

she had us come inside, told us whatever we want we can have it for free, was the least she can do for us helping her out. we all went around the house.

i went in John's man cave. had gotten his shot glass collection and his movies. dude had a big nice gangsta movie collection. Benji gotten the games and game systems. Prince gotten the music and his own keyboard. Mar gotten some kitchen stuff.

we thanked them and left on out. went on home put our stuff up. i went down to the basement, to my bar and put my stuff up, added my new movies to my collection.

John was charged and sentenced four years in jail, turns out Samantha wasn't the only woman he beaten on. he's now on his second strike.

Samantha gotten the house and everything, she didn't want anything to do with it so she decided to sell everything. she even burned some of John's stuff.
