I watched the movie 300 yesterday. There's one part that I'm grateful they added in:
When the hunchback comes and offers to fight in the Spartan army, King Leonidas politely explains that his deformity would prevent him from holding his shield properly, therefore compromising the Phalanx formation.
It would have been more historically accurate if Leonidas had laughed and kicked him off the cliff.
I WAS WAITING FOR THE PHALANX TO BE MENTIONED! YESSSSS
And so, for that reason, I am glad they didn't follow historic records quite too closely.
