The Last Train To Home

Chapter 25

Telling Emma's parents that she was expecting a baby was something Killian was quite afraid of. He couldn't help thinking that they were going to kick him out of their house with a bullet in the head and a restriction order.

Of course it wasn't that way. As soon as Emma explained the situation they both drew big smiles across their faces before dragging the young couple into a hug. There were tears of joy and even a toast to celebrate the news. Henry was elated too. He was so happy to be a big brother and have someone to play with. Emma and Killian couldn't be more delighted.

Mary Margaret suggested to have breakfast at Granny's the next morning and celebrate properly, so the following day they went to Emma's favorite diner and spent a good time.

The blonde was narrating to some of her friends the day she met her boyfriend at the train. The way she did it was full of enthusiasm and proud. Meanwhile, Killian sat in a booth in front of Mr. and Mrs. Swan.

"She looks so happy" Mary Margaret said as she stared at her beautiful daughter "You really brought light into her life, Killian" she stated after turning her head towards him.

He smiled "She also brought light into mine. I was just lucky, I suppose"

"Emma has never had an easy life, you know" David continued "She had to grow up quickly so she could take care of Henry. She wasn't able to finish a career nor fulfill her dreams. It has been hard for her"

Killian then spoke with a serious but calmed expression in his face "I know. And believe me when I say that the least I want to do is let Emma down. I'm here to protect her, stand by her side and love her"

By the time he finished talking there were wide grins across David and Mary Margaret's faces, which could only mean one thing:

They had accepted him.

"We know, Killian. We can see that the feelings you have for our daughter are meaningful and truthful" The short haired woman said as she took David's hand.

"And we couldn't be any happier about Emma having a man like you in her life" her husband finished.

Killian was over the moon, and it wasn't only because he was having a baby with Emma Swan. He was feeling again that joy of being part of a family, having other people in his life that supported him. It had been long since he felt that way.

"Thank you. I really appreciate it"

The three of them clinked their glasses one more time.

"Baby and mother are doing great" Dr. Whale stated after examining Emma at the hospital "Just gonna prescribe you some pills for the headaches"

"Thanks, Doctor" the soon-to-be mother answered.

When they were at Granny's, Mary Margaret asked Emma if she had gone to the doctor to check if everything was fine. She smiled innocently and answered with a "nope". Her mother didn't seem happy with that, so she made a last minute appointment for Emma with Dr. Whale.

"And... When will we know the baby's gender?" Killian, who was there next to Emma, asked eagerly.

"In three or four months"

What? That's too much time. Killian thought. I want to know if we're having a boy or a girl... I would love to have a boy. But also a little girl.

As soon as the appointment finished the couple made their way to Storybrooke's Main Street where the Annual Spring Celebration was going to be held. There were lots of vivid decorations such as balloons, stands filled with prizes, and more.

"There are many people here" Killian stated as he turned his head from one side to another, gazing at his surroundings "I thought Storybrooke had less residents"

"Not all persons live here. Most of them come from nearby towns just for the weekend. The celebration is quite popular" Emma explained.

"That's nice" he smiled to her "Look! There's Henry" he pointed with his finger right where he stood before the kid waved to the couple.

Music was being played, delicious food was being served and there was entertainment for everyone at the carnival. Killian and Emma took Henry to the games. At the beginning, the boy was the only one who played while the couple watched. However, it wasn't long until they both joined him. Emma was an expert at the shooting game while Killian was really good at darts, never missing the target. After that, they had lunch with Emma's parents. Later on, it was Mary Margaret and David's turn to spend time with their grandson. Emma watched with happiness how beautiful the relationship between Henry and her parents was before making her way with Killian to the fairground attractions.

They looked like two teenagers hanging around and having fun. The couple laughed out loud together about sillinesses, got on the carrousel, the wheel, bought candy cotton, walked with Killian's arm around Emma's shoulders... And let's not forget the constant exchange of kisses. There couldn't be any other couple more in love than Emma Swan and Killian Jones. They were just meant for each other. Love was indeed in the air.

After a while, they decided to have another ride at the wheel so they queued and waited until it was their turn. They took a seat, fastened their seat belts and screamed just for fun once the wheel was started.

They were enjoying so much their time together that they hand't noticed the presence of a shadow, a person who had been watching them for the last minutes. He stood at the bottom of the wheel, facing up at them. The hooded man felt repulsion. They looked so happy, delighted and unworried. Why were they spending a good time? They didn't deserve it. Much less her.
At least now he knew she had another weakness. Besides the brunette boy and her parents, Emma Swan had a man she loved.

And love is a weapon. Neal Cassidy thought before smiling crookedly. But it wasn't the moment to use it yet. He had to carry on with the plan. He walked away unseen, making his way to the other side of the carnival where he had already spotted his next target:

Henry.

Unfortunately, I have bad news guys. Exams start on Monday so I won't be able to update soon (they last two freakin weeks! Can you believe it? It's such a torture). I'll try to do it next Friday or Saturday, but I can't assure you anything.
