Waking up with her in my arms felt right. It was the most complete that I had felt since we had first gone through with it. I smiled down at her angelic face as she slept. There was nothing more perfect in the world than that. Nothing can compare to having her in my arms.
My eyes traveled to the alarm clock on my bedside table. It was almost eleven, which meant that we left for Hogsmeade in about an hour or two. I kissed her on top of her head, and she stirred awake with a huge smile plastered onto her face.
“Good morning, love,” I smirked down at her before giving her a quick kiss. “I presume you slept well?”
She nodded. “It was perfect. It was…exactly what I needed,” she in a whisper. “I love you.”
I just smiled at her and got out of bed to find myself some clothes to wear. After a while, I could feel her watching me. When I turned, she had her head propped up on her hand with a smirk on her face. I shook my head at her. She really was beautiful.
“Enjoying the show?” I asked and flexed a little for her.
She laughed. Gosh, how I loved that laugh. “Of course,” she said and bit her bottom lip.
“You should go change too, you know. It’s almost eleven thirty, and I know how you like to doll yourself up a bit for our dates,” I said, tossing her the clothes from the floor. “and hurry your pretty little buns up.”
She giggled as she put her clothes on and I enjoyed that show. Her face was all red with every move that she made, which just made her look so damn cute. When she was finished, she trounced right over to me and kissed me passionately.
“This is how we’re supposed to be,” she whispered onto my lips. “I won’t ever let you go.”
I watched her leave the room without a smile or smirk on my face. Little did she know, she would have to let me go. I probably shouldn’t have brought her up to my room, but I needed to get her away from Pansy. What we did the night before just gave her false hope. I wanted it as much as she did and now I was going to have to let her go. Man, my life was so not fair. I couldn’t even be happy for just a moment without him ruining it.
With that thought, I remembered the necklace. What was I going to do with it? I had already gone through everyone that would help me, so what was I supposed to do now? I couldn’t risk doing it myself, that was for sure. I pulled it out of my bottom drawer and ran a hand over the package. With a sigh, I tucked it into my coat and made sure it didn’t look funny there. I had to take it with me to Hogsmeade. It was the only way I could do it. I would have to force someone to do it for me, which mean that I had to do something unforgivable. As long as it went perfectly, everything would be fine. There would be no need to feel guilty, but what if I already did?
I headed down to the Great Hall, where I found Pansy and Millicent standing outside. I ignored them as I walked passed, but that didn’t stop them from following me. I brushed them off and headed for the Gryffindor table, surprising more than just those two girls. Hanna smiled up at me as she looked up from her sandwich. She looked happy, terribly happy, and I was going to tear her heart out that night, when everything was said and done. I kissed her on the cheek as Snape passed, who threw me a look of disgust. I looked away from him, knowing what he was thinking.
“What’s wrong, babe?” Hanna asked, looking at me with concern.
I shrugged. “Nothing really. Just a little tired from last night,” I threw a smirk her way.
She turned a bright shade of red and Bella let out a hardy laugh. I’m glad someone thought it was funny. I looked down the table to see a girl with short black hair and another girl with long, red hair just staring at me. I glanced at Hanna, who just rolled her eyes.
She leaned in to me and whispered. “They didn’t believe that you were really all that seriousabout us, and sitting with me proved to them that you were.”
“Why would that mean anything?” I was curious to find out why that would change her friends mind just by a simple gesture.
She shrugged. “Because you don’t mind being seen with a whole group of Gryffindors like you used to.”
I looked down the table a little farther to see Harry looking at me with suspicion written all over his face. I smirked. There was nothing like getting on Pothead’s nerves. Hanna gave me a disapproving look so I just looked away. Hey, I’d do anything for this girl.
“Let’s go,” Blaise said, popping up and taking Bella’s hand. “Madam Paddifoot’s anyone?”
The girls laughed, but I just rolled my eyes. I hated that place. Pink and hearts plastered everywhere with babies barely in diapers floating around? No way. That’s where I lay the line. Hanna squeezed my hand with a smirk.
“How about the three broomsticks?” she asked and we all nodded.
When we arrived, Blaise and I got two butterbeers each and went to find the girls. They were in the back with a booth table. I took the open seat next to Hanna of course, who kissed me on the cheek as soon as I sat down.
“Looks like you two worked things out,” Bella smiled over at us.
Hanna nodded. “In a way we did,” she said, which made Bella give her an odd look.
“In a way?” Blaise smirked. “You two are bad.”
Hanna’s face became red once more. I took her hand and squeezed it gently as she kissed me on the shoulder. We were back to the place we should be, too bad I had to ruin it. I just had to enjoy it while it lasted. It killed me that she didn’t have a clue though. After a while in the pub, Bella said the she wanted to take Hanna up to a certain shop really quick, so I nodded and gave her a kiss. With a sigh, I turned to the loo. Blaise was going to wait for me at the booth and then we’d meet up with the girls. I waited outside in the hall for a long time before someone actually came down towards me. It was a Gryffindor fromw hat I could tell. As they got closer, I saw that it was Katie Bell. I recognized her from Quidditch. She chased me off more than once from the snitch. After she went through the door to the toilet, I followed her in. Her back was turned to me, so she didn’t see me right away. She didn’t have time to scream because I had already pulled out my wand and performed the curse on her. With her under the Imperious curse, I called all the shots around there. I gave her the package and told her where to go, not mentioning who gave it to her. She nodded and left. I leaned against the wall and let out the breath I had been holding watching her leave. Next thing I knew, the door opened there was a scream before I was dragged out of the pub heavy a rather big guy and thrown out into the snow.
“What did you do, Draco Malfoy?”
I got up to see Pansy standing in front of me with a smile on her face as if she was about to laugh. I rolled my eyes and brushed myself off. I looked around, Blaise was nowhere to be scene. So, I turned and headed to where I could find Hanna.
“Wait, Draco,” she said, stepping into sync with me. “I know that you’re probably angry with me, but I just wanted to let you know that it was all her fault. I didn’t want to fight her but she just kept pushing me. I’m totally innocent, Drakie. You have to believe me.”
“Well,” I said, turning to her. “I don’t believe you. You have failed for the last time to try to get me back. I told you that you had messed up when you spread that lie about me hitting you. Just leave me alone – and Hanna – or suffer the consequences. It’s entirely your choice.”
She started to cry, and I didn’t even feel bad this time. “I love you, Draco. There is no one out there more perfect for me. You know that. Everyone knows that. We’re meant to be whether you like it or not.”
“What did I say, Pansy?” I said, turning and walking away.
“Wait!” she yelled after me. “Did you ever find out if she was muggleborn?”
I stopped and turned to face her. “No, I didn’t. That is something that you have made up in order for me to break up with her because I’ve broken up with a muggleborn before for you. Well, I’m not believing that lie this time. You can count on it.”
I turned to walk away from her for the last time, but she said something that actually made me stop walking and listen to her.
“Has she ever asked you what you thought of muggleborns before?”
