Chapter 17-Perfection

As I laid in bed I pondered whether I should text Selena or not...what if she doesn't want me to text her? What if she just gave me her number to be nice? Ah fuck it I'm going to text her. I text her, the next 3 minutes is like a panic attack, although I'm not really sure why, she's just another girl.

Me: 'Hey, its Haley'

Lena: 'hey whatsup? :)'

She actually texted back? She did. What do I reply?

Me: 'nothing much how about you?'

Lena: 'sitting here at cheer tryouts for next year.' I swear at that moment my heart dropped straight to my stomach. She's around faith, what if faith bad talks me and makes her not want to be my friend? No faith wouldnt do that. Would she?

Lena: 'you there?'

Me: 'yeah sorry was just thinking'

Lena: 'I wish I had time to think'

Me: 'what do you mean?'

She doesn't text back for a few minutes, maybe its her turn to try out.

Lena: 'nothing I have to go see you tomorrow at lunch?'

She wants to sit with me again??

Me: 'yeah c:'

I put my phone down and go take a shower.

Next Day

When I arrived at school I felt someone grab my arm,"please help me she's trying to hit me I didn't mean to-" her sentence was cut short by the school bully, people called her 'grudge' because she's so damn evil, I pushed Selena behind me "woah what's going on?" "Awe are you her body guard dike?" I stepped forward "I'm sorry, what the fuck did you just call me?" She stepped back a little, I might be skinny and kinda short, but I can fuck someone up and everyone here knew that, even the 'grudge'. "Just let me and the new bitch handle it, its none of your concern!" I laughed and pushed her back when she tried to reach for selena, "tell me what happened?" "She fucking tripped me" I really couldn't help but to laugh at that, because a girl as innocent and little as Selena tripped a mean fat bitch like the 'grudge' "it was an accident, I told you that!!" The grudge lunges for her again and this time I grab her by the head and slam her to the ground she stands up after a second and walks away "you'll regret that bitch!" "Don't throw out empty threats bitch, ain't no one scared" I turn around and Selena hugs me "thank you thank you! I thought she was going to murder me!" I laughed "that's cute" I didn't mean to say it, but I did. She blushed a little and started to run off "see you at lunch!" Okay good that means we're still friends, I didn't scare her off.
Before lunch i spray some Cologne on, when I get to my table I sit and listen to music waiting for Selena, you can imagine my disappointment when I saw her walk in with faith. I put my head down, but moments later I feel the table shake a little I look up and see Selena sitting down gesturing for me to take my earbuds out, I smile and take them out. She didn't ditch me like everyone else would. "Yeah?" "So how's your day so far?" " good, and yours?" "Good now that you've tooken care of that girl for me" "who? The grudge?" She giggles "the what?" "That's what everyone calls her" she frowns a little "that's not nice, people should call her by her real name, even if she is a bully." God why is she so sweet? "Yeah I guess you're right" she smiles big knowing she's right, "so I see you were hanging out with faith" "yeah! She's so nice and her and her boyfriend devin are so cute together!" I kinda look down "hey, what's wrong?" "She kind of left me for devin" I say in a little voice. Her expression turns..mad? Sad? "She what?! That is so not cool!" "I hit her" "why?" "She was flirting with devin in front of me and kept ignoring me" her expression grows soft "I'm sorry haley you can do better" "thanks" The bell rings and she runs off "text me later mk?" "Okay". I'd like to say her comments about faith and devin didn't hurt, but I think everyone knows they did. I just forgot about her and now she's back in my head! Ugh. I need to get...no! No I don't need to turn to drugs! They don't help..they make it worse. They take my money, and my life. I'll get candy instead. And a monster.

Next Day

I have to look good today. I have too. I put on ripped faded skinny jeans, a black shortsleaved blouse with a red tank top and I straighten my hair. Today is going to be different. I'm going to be happy today, I'm going to be myself.

School Lunch

I was once again sitting at my table, but this time no ear buds. I see Selena walk in and I wave to her, she signals towards faiths table, I guess she can tell I'm confused because she comes over "hey " "hey" "I'm going to sit with faith today so we can go over a rutine, but meet me at my locker? I'll text you the number" and with that she walks away. Great should've brought my headphones.

Lena: 'B346'

I get the text in history, shit. I raise my hand "yes haley?" "Can I go to the restroom?" "I suppose, sign out" I sign out and go upstairs to the top floor and meet Selena at her locker when I get there she's smiling big "what is it?" I ask "come with me" I follow her, about half way there I realize she's taking me to the roof, why? I don't know. "Uhm Selena, why are we going to the roof? I can't stay gone long" I say when we get there she walks over behind a big fan, I follow and see Faith...wtf.

"Hey haley.." She says looking down, she was in her cheerleading uniform and damn did she look good, no haley! Don't get warped again. "What did you bring me up here for Selena?!" I yell Selena jumps "I made her haley, I wanted to talk...I regret it all and I'll forgive you and give you another chance if you give me one..." I laugh loudly..she's serious, she looks hurt, "what is so funny?" She asks "I don't want you Faith!" I scream she looks shocked "you said you loved me..!" She says "key word 'loved'" I say and walk away "Haley!" I ignore her, and Selena? Wow I can't believe she would do that to me! I go back to history angry. Who does she think she is? She thinks she can just break someone's heart and then get them back just like that?! No! That's not how it works! Fuck her. My phone vibrates

Lena: 'I'm sorry, she still loves you and I thought you still loved her, I was just trying to be a good friend.'

Maybe she really was just trying to be nice. Now I feel bad.

Me: 'its okay, wanna hang after school?'

Please say yes.

Lena: 'sure where??'

Me: 'the mall?'

Lena: 'yeah! That sounds great.'

Me: 'okay meet me at the entrance after school at 4:30'

Lena: 'okay'

I go to the mall after school and Selena's waiting there for me she smiles "hey" she hugs me..she hugged me!!! "Hey" I say hugging her back we go into the mall "So what do you wanna do?" I ask "can we watch a movie?? Ohhh please I want to watch the new goosebumps movie! Please?" I laugh "okay kid" she gets a pout on her face "what?" "You called me kid" I laugh again "I'm sorry come on" she gets her money out to pay for her ticket, but I give the lady $14 "two for goosebumps please?" "Is someone else coming?" "No why?" "You bought two tickets?" "Yeah I bought yours, here" she smiles and blushes "do you want any candy? Or popcorn? Drink?" She giggles "I can buy it" "nooo I can buy it" I say getting in front of her, we argue for about 5 minutes and then she finally gives in and tells me what she wants.

After the movie I ask my mom if she can take Selena home and she says yes when we drop off Selena I walk her to the door "thanks for tonight, it sucks being the new girl, I'm glad I have a friend like you to make it better" she hugs me "bye haley" "bye lena".
