Finding Emmaleigh Blakely

Chapter 18

Stacy (Mom's) POV

Today is the girls' first day back and I have to admit, I'm pretty nervous. The other kids might not remember what I said to them earlier and wonder who Alivia is. Then, they will come home and ask about it. Then what will I have to do? Tell them the truth about the brain scan? No, I can't do that, I couldn't, I wouldn't, ever. I would have to make up some ridiculous lie about it and they probably wouldn't believe me, so I will have to make it somewhat believable. 

Autumn's POV

Today is our first day back at school and I hate school. I am a freshman in high school this year, so I am a year older than Alivia and Emmaleigh. They are in eighth grade this year and I am worried sick about today. Don't get me wrong, winter break was fun and all, but I always dread coming back to school. Most of all, I hate the 'food' that they serve us there (If you even want to call it that). The kids at school probably won't go by anything my mom told them about Alivia and Emmaleigh being twins their whole lives.

Alivia's POV

Today was our first day back from winter break and I can't wait to see my best friend in the whole world, Paetyn. Emmaleigh and I have some separate friends, but we also have some of the same friends. Paetyn was one of my friends that was separate to her best friend, Kaelyn. When we got to school, I was shocked, my best friend thought I was Emmaleigh and so did Hayley. I can't believe that my own best friend and mine and Emmaleigh's shared friend (Hayley) got us mixed up. I mean people do it all of the time and we were used to it, but our friends should know our names by now. I mean, we have known them for like our whole lives. 

Emmaleigh's POV  

Today at school, Hayley and Paetyn got Liv mixed up with me and seemed to be shocked that I had a twin and I was all like, "What do you mean, Pae? We have known you guys forever and have been twins our whole lives and you just now notice it?" She still seemed to have no idea what I was talking about, but I just ignored it and kept going on with my day.

Kaelyn's POV

When I got on the bus, I was so excite to see my best friend, Emmaleigh. I wanted to ask her all about her winter break and how Ethan was, but I was shocked when I got there to see her looking totally different. Her hair was died a tone lighter, she had gotten glasses, and her style had changed from sweat pants and a tee shirt to totally girly. "Em! What has gotten into you?! I knew you would have probably changed over break, but I wasn't expecting you to change that much!" I told her. "What are you talking about, Kae? And I'm not Em, I'm Liv." She explained. Wait, hold the phone, who's Liv and why does she look exactly like Emmaleigh? 

Ethan's POV

I was so worried about today, but yet so happy at the same time. I was worried that the kids at school would confuse Liv and Em it was even worse that I am not in the same school building as them because I am in high school and they are in middle school. However, I was happy for Grayson that he has a date for the dance tomorrow night. Luckily, I have already asked Em to be my date and she said yes. 

Stacy (Mom's) POV

When I hear the bus stop at our house, my hear sank. I was too scared about what the girls would say about their day at school. I was almost 100% certain that the kids would not have done what I had requested. "Hey Mom." They said at the same time as they walked into the door. Oh twins, I love it when they do that. "Hey girls. How was your day at school?" I asked them worried about what their answers might be. "Strange actually." I heard Emmaleigh say. "And why was that?" I asked acting like I didn't know why and obviously I did. "Our friends kept calling me Emmaleigh." Said Alivia. "Hmm... How odd?" I said trying to sound confused. I was so good at this acting thing that I didn't even have to make up some lie. I just hope that those kids at school have caught on by now and will play along tomorrow because if not, I might have to break down and tell them the truth. I am pretty certain that I wouldn't let myself do that and I hope it will not come down to it. But who knows? Only time will tell.
