"What do you want to watch?" Alexis called from the next room. She was being much nicer to me. Apparently she had spent the entire day with Chase, and I wondered if that had anything to do with it.
I finished brushing my hair and left the bathroom. "Up to you," I shrugged as I fell back against the bed. I watched as Alexis scrolled through movies on Netflix, not really bothered enough to care what we watched. It was nice having her here, though. She served as a very nice distraction from obsessing over everything.
"How about No Strings Attached?" She suggested at the sake time that my phone rang. I picked it up, pressing it to my war, just as she snorted "nice case."
"Yeah, Louis and Harry got it for me...Hello?" I said into the phone, my eyes on the TV set. I loved this movie. I'd seen it close to ten times, but I still couldn't take my eyes away from it.
"Stella, it's an emergency!" Louis' voice broke me from my interest in the movie, my attention suddenly on him.
"What's wrong? Where are you?" I demanded, sitting up a little straighter.
"Outside your door. Get dressed in something cute and come meet me, okay?"
I frowned. Something cute? What kind of emergency was this? "Louis...what are you talking about?"
Alexis' eyes flickered over to me when I said his name, but she quickly looked away.
"Okay...so maybe it's not quite an emergency, per say," Louis said, impatiently. "We had to leave the after party, because none of the other boys are legal and they're trying to keep our American image clean, blah blah, blah. But I'm legal, and I want to go out. And you're the only other legal person here, so I'm forcing you to come with me."
I smiled a little but rolled my eyes, even though he couldn't see me. "Just go to bed, Lou. It's nearly twelve."
"Stella, please, I had a rough night and I just want a drink. One drink, then we can head back, okay?"
I looked back at the TV then sighed. "Fine. Just one."
"Thank god, I was worried I'd have to kidnap you. Not sure that would help keep my image clean. Now, hurry, get dressed, and come outside!" Louis spoke way too fast when he was excited, his words running together. I could barely pick them out.
I hung up the phone and looked over at Alexis. She smiled, uncharacteristically for her. "It's okay, go. I'll probably just call Chase over it something. No big deal, go," she said. I nodded, happy that things seemed to be progressing between her and Chase without me even having to get involved.
"Okay," I agreed as I slid off the bed and hurried towards my bag. I pulled out a pair of black jeggings and a sparkly top. My hair was still a bit wavy from the curls I'd had it in earlier, and I hadn't taken off my makeup. It took me all of five minutes to get ready. I called goodbye to Alexis before leaving.
Louis was leaning against the wall opposite my door, his arms crossed over his chest and a mischevious smile occupying his face. He was still wearing the same trousers, but had changed into a casual white v-neck, losing the blazer and suspenders as well. It looked like he had run his fingers through his hair, as it was now a little messy and back to hanging in his face.
"Hello there, Stella," he smirked at me, pushing himself off the wall. "You look lovely as always." There was something about his compliments that always made me blush, it was just the melodic way he spoke them.
