Louis rolled off me with an angry look on his face as his eyes met Niall's. "Now? You must talk to my girlfriend right now?" He crossed his arms over his chest and the attitude was radiating from his pores. So much so I actually thought Niall would just back down.

"Yeah, mate, right now. You can do whatever you were doing later. This is important," Niall pleaded, trying to sound like he was standing his ground but it looked like he was crumbling by the second. My heart was breaking for him.

"Well then I'm staying." Louis' voice was harsh and it was obvious that wasn't a question. "If it's so important."

Niall ran his hands over his face and let out a long, frustrated sigh. "Please, Louis..." Niall whispered. Even from across the room I could see his blue eyes shimmering with moisture.

I reached out and gently laid my hand against Louis' bicep, making him jump a little and look back at me. "Just give us a minute, Lou?"

His feature softened as I spoke and he gave me the tiniest nod. "Yeah, um, okay," he mumbled as he turned to Niall while getting off the bed. "Sure, Nialler. Sorry for being such a twat. Take all the time you need, buddy."

The room remained silent for a few beats after the door shut behind Louis. Niall was facing away from me. I could hear his shallow breathing - the type you try and do when you're willing yourself to be strong. I wanted to answer all his questions - but it wasn't my place. Alexis was ignoring him though, and the poor guy seemed to be eating himself alive with panic.

"Niall," I whispered into the silence, trying to bring his attention back to me.

"You... You said that pregnancy test belonged to Alexis?" His voice wavered and he stayed on the other side of the room from me, like he was afraid to come any closer.

"I never said that. Louis guessed that," I reminded him. I did not want any blame for telling Louis and Niall she was pregnant. All I said was that it wasn't mine.

Niall looked like he was going to snap at me but he shook his head last second and squeezed his eyes shit. Through tight lips he said "fine, whatever, but it was hers? And it was positive."

"Yes."

Niall's face scrunched up even further and he pressed his fingers into his eye sockets. "Okay. Well I don't know how much you know of this but... Alexis and I... A while ago we-"

"I know all about it, Niall." He was having such a hard time getting the words out so I figured I'd just help him out.

"Do you know what she's going to do?"

I shook my head sadly. "I have no idea. I don't think she knows either, but Niall... You should be asking her this, not me."

"I tried!" He shrieked, finally walking over to the bed and sitting next to me. "She won't talk to me. She keeps avoiding me and won't even look at me."

"She's scared, Niall. She's young and she's scared. Shes worried she'll have to go through it alone."

"I'd never let that happen," Niall whispered as I had expected. "We could...we could make it work?" It was more of a question than anything else.

I laid my hand on his knee, saying my next words so gently. "She doesn't want to ruin your career, Niall."

"She won't!" He said too quickly.

I tilted my head to the side and arched my eyebrow.

"We could... make it work." This time it wasn't a question, but he still had hesitation.
