"Stop avoiding me, Alexis!" I commanded as I followed her down the corridor, my feet pitter pattering against the carpet at a rapid speed as I tried to keep up with her.

She stopped at the other end and even from so far away I could hear the sigh she let out as she hesitated. Finally she turned around and looked at me innocently. "I'm not avoiding you," she insisted as we both walked forward to meet each other. "What would make you think such a foolish thing?" She batted her eyelashes and smiled sweetly.

"I don't know. Maybe the fact that you have left the room every time I entered and for the first time in months you're not sharing a hotel room with me? I mean, you shared with me when you hated me. So why not now? What's going on? Did you talk to Chase while I was gone?"

Her front tooth sunk into her lip as she winced a little. "Kind of."

"What does that mean? What do you mean by kind of?" I demanded as I squinted my eyes and studied her. If I looked hard enough, I thought I could see the outline of a baby bump underneath her shirt. But that could have all been in my head.

"I brokeupwithhim,"she said quickly, her words running together as she nervously tugged on the ends of her curls. "Without any explaination."

"That's not what I meant by talk to him. That's the exact opposite, really! Alexis!" I squeezed my eyes shut and ran my hand over my face. "What did he say? Was he upset?"

"I think he saw it coming," she sighed as she leaned against the wall. "He didn't really say much of anything, but I feel terrible. I really did like Chase - he's so sweet. And I know he really, really liked me. He has for a long time. He's the kind of guy who would offer to stick by me. But I can't let him do that - it's not his kid, he shouldn't uproot his life for a girl he's been dating a month."

I had to agree with her - Chase did seem like the type who would stay with her and take on everything that came with her. He had told me once that he thought he was falling in love with her. But he didn't deserve to have to be put through this. He wouldn't see it now, but staying with Alexis if she went through with having the baby, would only make his life so much harder. In a lot of ways Alexis was maybe doing the right thing. But it didn't mean he wasn't going to find out.

"And Niall? Did you talk to Niall?"

"I avoided Niall like the plague," she chuckled even though I knew she didn't find it funny at all. "He tried calling me and came to my room twice - I just couldn't face him. What am supposed to say to him? 'Hey remember how we did it that one time? Well congratulations 'cause you're about to be a daddy.'" She rolled her eyes but tears were forming in them. It wasnt hard to tell that Alexis used sarcasm and joking as a defense mechanism.

"He already knows you're pregnant, he's probably freaking out. Just tell him it's his. Just tell him what you told me."

"Yeah, thanks for that, by the way," she grumbled.

"I'm sorry," I apologized as I bit down on my lip. "You have to talk to him, Lex."

She shook her head and suddenly a smile appeared on her face, replacing the look of terror that had previously been etched into her skin. "Enough with this depressing shit. What the fuck happened with you and Louis?" She accused with narrowing eyes.

I frowned at her. "You're just trying to avoid it again," I accused in a sing song voice.

"So what if I am? It's all I think about twenty four hours a day," she sighed, her fingers tracing her stomach with a sad look. "My life is a complete and utter mess right now. So what if I want to hear about your happy ending? No more complications - you and Louis finally made it through all those obstacles. Please tell me all about it? As you're friend I beg you."
