Why the Zoo?

Chapter 3



Cris and I paired up in class to work on our fashion task of the day. The challenge was to sketch 5 "ready-to-wear" outfits that would work for a family of five with a mom, dad, older teenage son, pre-teen daughter, and a 8 year old boy. This was basic fashion industry marketing and design. It was obvious what we had to do.



"I was thinking that we could split up the assignments and give feed back on each others." Cris said to break the awkward ice of: what now?



"Yes. Definitely! Uhm... I'll take the Dad and teenage girl. Then you can have the Mom and teenage son. At the end we can split the boy's look and co design it." After what seemed like hours, we finally sketched out design and handed our assessment in.

On our walk home I could see that Cris was completely occupied with something that was completely confusing her.



"What is it Cris? You have been starring at your phone for the entire walk home...it's been ten minutes!" I kinda raised my voice so that she could snap out of her daze.



"I'm thinking about texting Niall. I'm not sure if I should or not. I mean, is it too soon? We just saw them about 3 hours ago. No! I shouldn't text him. I'm going to wait. But I don't want him to move on to-" She was freaking out and definitely loosing her mind over something that was, at least, understandable to loose your mind over. I mean, it was Niall Horan for Pete's sake!



"Just call him. Don't text because then it seems like you don't care enough. And plus you get to find out if it is really his number or if her faked it." I cut her off and she finally dialed up the number.



"Hey! It's Crystal, ya know the girl from Starbucks. Yup! Ha! Thanks!" He was smiling from ear to ear. I'm glad she could enjoy this. I mean how many people actually get to talk to not only their celebrity crush but also their role models? "Sure. What time? Okay. I'll ask. Bye. Yeah, see ya soon!"



She hung up the phone and immediately did a little scream and dance of excitement.



"Okay. Tonight around 8 we are going to the London Zoo!" Cris was too happy. I don't know why a zoo is so exciting.



"Okay..... Why?" I didn't know what to expect. Knowing her it could be anything.



"One Direction is going their and they rented out the entire zoo. They also invited us. And as in they I mean Niall." Know I finally understood what was going on.



"Why did they rent out the entire zoo?" I asked.



"They're One FREAKIN' Direction. They can't just go wherever they want with regular unsuccessful people roaming around like zombies." Her analogy made me laugh.



"It around 5 o'clock now. So I guess we better start picking out our outfits now! I already know what I'm going to wear." I had the perfect outfit in mind. It was a steel denim blue and white striped sweetheart neckline tube too that wore seamlessly with my coral mid-thigh length high/low skirt. Yeah it showed a bit chest but, it WAS One Direction. I wanted to be stunning and conservative. Which is obviously not what Cris was going for. . .
