Chapter 23
(3 weeks later )
Rachels pov :
Its been 3 weeks since I had my fight with Carol. All I can think about is what she said to me . I couldn't help but think how right she was . I was holding Finn back from achieving his dream. The last thing I ever wanted to do was that. I walked into the choir room in my cap and gown. "Hey mama." Quinn said. "Hey Quinn." I said. "So how you've been feeling? " She asked me. "Pregnant." I said. "Well duh. I meant besides that." She said . "Conflicted." I told her. "About what?" She asked me. "Can you keep a secret?" I asked her. "Yeah." She said. "I um I got into a fight with Finns mom a couple weeks ago I was trying to fix things but it didn't work." I said. "What did she say ?" She asked me. "She said that by me letting Finn stay with me and not go to his dream college I was being selfish and I don't deserve him." I told her. "Oh Rachel thats not true." She said giving me a hug . "But isn't it ? I mean we both want to go to the college of our dreams but ever since I got pregnant things have been complicated . I don't want to ruin his life Quinn." I told her. "Rachel are you crazy? That boy loves you and this baby you're not ruining his life you're making it better. " She said. "Not according to his mom." I said. "Who gives a damn what Carol says ? She kicked him out she doesn't care about him so don't let her get to you . Finn loves you Rachel he always has . " She said. "I look at him and I think that he deserves to be happy in California not stuck here . " I said. "Rachel listen to me . He would be happy living a trailer as long as it was with you. He doesn't care about money , he cares about you and that baby . " She told me. "I know its just hard." I said. "Hey girls ." Finn said walking over to us . I looked at him and he smiled at me . "Hi beautiful. " He said. "Hi." I said and kissed him . "So I was thinking about what to name the baby and after thinking about it for a long time I think the baby Anna." He said. I smiled and said, "Anna Hudson, I love it ." I said. "Me too. " He said. "I love you. " I told him. "I love you more." He said. "I love you most." I said. "If you say so." He told me. "Come on lets go graduate. " I said smiling . He smiled and took my hand .
Finns pov :
After graduation Rachel and I went back to her house to get ready for the party. I went upstairs to find Rachel packing a suitcase . "Babe whats going on? " I asked her. She turned around with tears in her eyes , "I'm leaving." She said . "Okay but we have a party to go to." I said. "No Finn I'm leaving you. " She said. "What why ?" I asked her. "I'm setting you free Finn. You're going to California and I'm going to New York. You're going to be an actor and I'm going to be a broadway star. " She told me. "Rachel I don't understand. " I told her. "Finn , I don't want to ruin your life by keeping you here and not letting you go to California and live your dream I am." She said crying . "Dreams change Rachel. I love you and this baby you're not ruining my life . Where did you get such a crazy idea from?" I asked her. "Carol. She said I was ruining everything by letting you stay here and she's right . You deserve so much happiness Finn." She told me. "I am happy, with you and this baby I love you Rachel. " I said. "Stop saying that." She told me. "No, I'll never stop because its true I do love you I always have ." I told her . "You can't though." She said. "Why not ?" I asked her. "Because I'm breaking up with you." She said. "No ! No don't do this Rachel don't say that ." She took her engagement ring off and gave it to me. "I'm sorry Finn. Goodbye." She said and gave me a kiss on the cheek. She grabbed her suitcase and went down stairs , got into her car and I watched as she left.
(2 hours later)
I sat on Rachels bed looking down at her engagement ring. I was so mad . Why did she leave ? What did I do? I got into my truck and went for a drive . As I got to my house I pulled over and got out I was filled with rage and anger . I pounded on my mothers front door . "Finn." She said suprised to see me . I charged her slamming her body to a wall. "WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR PROBLEM! " I yelled furiously at her . "What are you talking about?" She asked me. "Carol!" Burt yelled . "Finn get off of her!" He yelled at me pulling me off of her. "YOU TOLD RACHEL TO LEAVE WITHOUT ME ! ARE YOU NUTS I LOVE HER!" I yelled. "She was ruining your life Finn ." She told me. "NO SHE IS THE LOVE OF MY LIFE MOTHER AND YOU HAD NO RIGHT TO DO THAT! " I yelled at her angry. "She was holding you back." She said. "No ! She is everything to me and she not selfish . You are! So heres something for you . I am no longer your son. Don't call me, don't talk to me , don't even try and find me because I promise you won't. I'm done with you." I said and left.
