Chapter 53
(2 weeks later )
Finns pov :
Today Emily is getting her surgery for a new kidney and to be honest I'm really nervous because I don't know if it'll work. I just to go back to the way it was. I want to be with Rachel , to have Emily be healthy again , to dance with Rachel at our wedding. I just want everything to be okay again . "Everythings going to be okay sweet heart. " Rachel said to Emily in her bed holding her hand. "You're mommy's right." I said walking in putting my arm around Rachel and my hand over Emilys and Rachels. "Everything is going to be okay don't be afraid sweetheart. " I told her. "He's right. Everything will be okay all you have to do is close your eyes and before it you'll wake up and we'll be right here waiting for you." Rachel told her taking my hand. "I love you." Emilys said. "We love you too." I said. "Okay Emily , Rachel , Finn , everything is ready . " The doctor said. "Great. " I said. Emily looked at us and Rachel bent down and said , "Just close your eyes and before you know it we'll be here waiting for you. " She told her. "We love you." I said and we kissed her forhead and they took her to surgery. "Now what?" Rachel asked me. I looked at her and said , "Now we wait and hope Gods with us." I said holding her tightly. I was in the church praying for Emily when Rachel sat down and said , "Need some company?" She asked me. I smiled and took her hand , "What are you doing here? " I asked her. "Well figured that this is the best place I could be right now with everything going on . What about you?" She asked me. "Just thinking." I said. "About what?" She asked me. "Emily, Carol, the baby, you." I said. She smiled and said, "Well I love that you're thinking about me but why don't we just stop thinking for once and do." She said. "Like what?" I asked her. "Come away with me ." She said smiling and took my hand and we left the church. "Where are we going ?" I asked her. "You'll see." She said laughing. We pulled to McKinley and got out of the car. "Come on." She said. "Where are you taking me? " I asked her laughing. "Close your eyes." She said. I closed them and felt her hand leading me somewhere. "No peeking." She said. "Watch your step." She said a couple of minutes later. "Okay open." She said. I opened my eyes and we were in the auditorium. I looked at her and smiled , "Our place." I said. "Suprise. " She said. "You're amazing." I told her. She smiled and said, "I know. I'm awesome but I figured we should take our minds off the surgery and onto us . " She said, "So in order to do that I remade our first date. " She said gesturing over to the pinic basket and blanket set up. I smiled , "I love you. " I told her. She nestled near me and said , "Dance with me." "No music." I said. She took out the romote and pressed a button playing Faithfully by Journey aka our song. "You thought of everything." I said. "I did." And she grabbed my hand leaned in and we started to dance. "I'm scared." I said. "I know ." She told me. "How?" I asked her . "Because I am too. " She said. "What if we loose her?" I asked her. "We won't." She said. "How do you know?" I asked her. "Because , Gods with us and if there's one thing I knoe about God is that he does everything for a reason after all it was fate that brought us together. " She said. "I love you, you know that right?" I asked her. She smiled and said, "Of course I do. " She told me and we kissed. We finished dancing and we laid down on the blanket holding eachother for awhile and then it was time to go back to the hospital.
Rachels pov :
I held Finns hand as we waited for the word on Emily and whether or not everything would be okay. Everyone we knew and loved was there waiting with us. "Here," Santana said, "I brought you a tea and Finn a coffee." She told us. I smiled and said , "Thanks but I don't think I can really eat or drink right now." I told her. "Rachel you gotta eat you're eating for two." She said handing me the tea with a muffin in the bag. "Thank you." I said. "Wheres Finn? " She asked me. "He is waiting outside . Honestly he's just as scared as I am." I said. "Of course he is , he's a father , he should be scared." She said. "I just want to make everything okay again. When we were in highschool...." She interrupted me, "Let me stop you right there chica, " she said , "When you were in highschool you were suicidal, than you went away for a summer to New York City came back with a new jackass of a boyfriend, dumped him , got back together with Finn for the millionth time, got knocked up , left and lived in New York City for five years till finally the love of your life, your highschool sweet heart , your one true love came back into your life and proposed to you and got you knocked up again. Rachel lets face it your life is anything but easy and you know what thats life its not meant to be easy or fair but its meant to be hard and you are meant to get over those oppsticles with Finn . Not anybody else. So here is a little advice from Aunti Santana ; be happy , because right now you're daughter is fighting for her life and when she wakes up and this is over she's going to need her parents. I know its all crazy but thats life its crazy and messy and it's not always going to be a fairytale but you have people who love you more than anything so go be there don't reminisce in the past or else you'll be stuck there forever . " She told me. I smiled and nodded , "I love you best friend. " I told her. "Love ya too." She said and hugged me. "Hey ." Finn said. "Hi." I said. "Any word?" He asked me. "Not yet. " I said. "I think I'll go back outside." He told me. "No," I said, "Stay here with me , I need you." I said grabbing his hand. "Okay." He said and we sat down and he grabbed my hand holding it. "Emily Hudson? " The doctor said. "Yes?" I asked him shaking Finn to wake up four hours later. "So the surgery went very well and we got all the cancer out so she will be okay." He told us. We both smiled with relief and then hugged eachother. "And Carol how is she?" Finn asked. "You didn't know?" Asked the doctor. "Know what?" Finn asked. "Carol only had one kidney. She knew if she gave it up she would die but she insisted on doing it. Carols dead." He told us.
