Chapter 55
(That night )
Finns pov :
I had to get out of the apartment before I did something stupid so I decided to get some fresh air and take the letter Carol wrote me . I sat down on a park bench and began to read ,
"Dear Finn and Rachel ,
You are both probably upset that I didn't tell you my plan earlier , that I didn't tell you I only had one kidney to live on , to Finn , my dear, dear son, I did this because I felt as if it would make things right between us. I see now that I made a huge mistake 5 and a half years ago when I drove the love of your life away. I am truly , truly sorry to you and Rachel. The truth is Finn, Rachel and Emily are the most important people you will ever need in your life. So don't screw it up. No matter how bad things seem as long as you have your family everything will be okay . That the reason I gave her my kidney , because I know from losing you that losing a child is the worst experience any parent can go through. It makes you feel like you didn't do enough even when you did all your power you felt like you could do more. That pain is something I would never ever wish on anybody. Finn, I will not deny that I haven't made mistakes in my life , losing you was the biggest one and I'm sorry for that. So even though I may not be the parent of the year , I do have some tips for you and Rachel to take with you on your journey to marriage and parenthood.
1. Teach your children - Finn, one thing I always loved about you is that you dreamed that you could be anything. Whether it was an astronaut, a firefighter , a football player , an actor you dreamed it . So encourage your children to dream and to make their dreams come true. Teach them compassion , and love , and happiness, teach them lessons that they can take with them throughout their lives . Most importantly let them teach you lessons too, you will find that your children will see things with a different mind set and they may just change yours so learn from them and they'll learn from you.
2. Love your partner - This is for both you and Rachel. I know I was not the most accepting person when I found out Rachel was pregnant with Emily and I truly am sorry. I now realize how wrong I really was about Rachel , Rachel you are the most important person in my sons life and I thank you for taking care of him now that I am gone. You are bright , sweet , beautiful, funny , and I could not ask for someone better for my son than you. Finn, take care of her , love her unconditionaly, hold her on her darkest days and she will do the same for you.
3. Last but not least ; Appreciate the little things in life - this is the most valuable advice I can give to you both. If theres one thing I could ever ask of either of you it would be to appreciate everything you have in this life because you only get one chance to do that. Don't regret the past because it is what makes you who you are and you can't change it, but you can improve your present . Now is the time to be with your family and friends , to take as many pictures as you can, you laugh as hard as possible, to enjoy every kiss and hug you share , to learn from your fights and to try and understand one another. Every choice you make will affect your life in one way or another, so choose carefully and think about the consequences. Never go to bed angry and always tell eachother no matter what how much you love eachother whether its with words or with a simple look. Dance in the living room after a hard night, kiss eachother and spend time with one another. Always make time for your family because you never know how long it will last. Enjoy every minute of every single day, learn from your past , teach your children, and love eachother.
I wish you two the best and even though I'm gone I will always be watching over you .

I put the letter back in my pocket and went to the hospital to be with Emily and Rachel. When I got to the hospital I saw Rachel reading to Emily on her lap and I smiled. "Hey beautiful girls." I said walking in. "Daddy! " Emily said happily. I smiled and kissed her forhead picking her up, "Hi princess." I said. I then looked at Rachel who was suprised to see me. "Hi beautiful." I said to her and kissed her passionatly. "What got into you?" She asked me suprised. "I just realized that you two, or should I say three are the most important people in my life." I told her. She smiled and said , "Well I'm glad you did." She said. "Which is why , I don't wanna wait anymore I want get married this year before the baby is born." I said. "Are you sure?" She asked me. "Yup , we only have a short time together and I don't want to wait anymore I want you to be Mrs.Rachel Barbara Berry Hudson . " I told her. She smiled and kissed me passionatley. "I love you. " She said. "I love you too. " I told her. "Daddy I saw her. " Emily said. "Saw who?" I asked her confused. "Grandma Carol , she said that I needed to go back to you and mommy while she went to be with God. " She told me. "She did , when?" Rachel asked. "During my surgery, she was there protecting me like an angel , she was always protecting all of us." Emily said. I smiled and said , "Of course she was princess , she is our angel after all." I said and kissed her forhead.
