[Ezio x Reader Fanfic] May the father of understanding guide us

6} Meeting the Family

After You told Ezio about Ferdinand, he grew very quiet and looked only at the ground. You decide it best not to say anything so you keep walking. The doctor's store is just around the corner so you turn to Ezio,
"The doctor is just around the corner, wait here. I'll be back soon." You leave him sitting on a crate looking a little lost. In a way, you were glad. At least he wasn't asking questions.
You purchase the medicine from the doctor and head back to where Ezio is sitting. You put a little medicine on your hankie and lightly dab at his cut, eliciting a hiss of pain from him.
"I'm sorry, Ezio. But I need to clean it up." You apologise.
"I'm fine, (Y/N)." He assures you," I have been worse, this is nothing!"
You continue to gently dab at his lip until there is no more blood and the wound is clear.
"I can try and stitch it up but I think a doctor could do it better than I, I'll ask-" as you turn to get the doctor again, Ezio grabs your wrist gently and holds you back.
"I'll be fine, thank you (Y/N)." His piercing brown eyes gaze into your (E/C) ones."and when we get to the house, I will pay you for the medicine."
"That isn't necessary, I'm glad I could help." You smile at him and he returns it, wincing slightly at stretching the cut on his lip.
"Please, let me escort you to my home, I'm sure that dinner will be ready, and Petruccio won't shut up about you!" He exclaims, his eyes kind.
You link arms and he walks you back to his home. You enter the square courtyard and he releases your arm, it feels cold where his touch had been. He opens the door and gestures for you to enter before him. You enter their house and Ezio leads you to their dining room.
There are 4 people at the table, you only recognise Petruccio. His eyes shift upwards as you enter and his face lights up.
"(Y/N)!" He calls as he rushes towards you and hugs your waist. Your arms come up and hug him too.
"(Y/N), this is my my mother Maria, my father Giovanni and my older brother Federico." He introduces you.
"Hello, my name is (Y/N)." You reply.
"Yes, I have heard a lot about you." Federico says, standing and walking towards you. He takes your hand and kisses it." It is good to meet you, (Y/N)."
He takes you and leads you to an empty seat at the table next to Maria, pulling out the chair for you to sit down on. Before he can sit next to you, Ezio slides into the seat and him and Federico glare at one another. This makes you chuckle slightly. As you sit, another unfamiliar face appears.
"Claudia, just in time for dinner!" Maria says as Claudia glares at you. "Claudia, don't be so hostile! This is (Y/N), she is the girl who helped Petruccio this morning."
"Oh, yes I remember." She smirked at Ezio,"Petruccio wasn't the only one talking about you!"
"Enough, Claudia!" Says Giovanni. "I'm sure (Y/N) is hungry, let's eat!"
Everyone say and started eating. It was very nice but what you enjoyed more was the conversation. It reminds you of the rare occasions you get to see your siblings César and Lucrecia. They are both in Rome and you haven't seen them for many years now. You kind of miss them but they never treated you like family. You were the bastard sister who they used to taunt. It also reminded you of how little freedom you had compared the them. When your father would take them to many social events and the only events you attended were the training events or Templar business meetings. You were one of the most skilled Templars in your generation and ,as your father tells you, one day the entire order. You had extensive training but at your young age, the Templars don't send you on many missions so you have never killed anyone.
You are jolted out of your daze by Maria's hand on your arm. You flinch only a little but everyone notices it.
"Are you okay (Y/N)?" She asks you softly. You then notice that a few tears had rolled down your cheeks. You immediately swipe them away.
"I'm fine, really!" You insist but looking at their faces, nobody believes you. "It's just that...seeing you as a family...it's wonderful! And I...I've never had that."
Giovanni gives you a sympathetic smile and Maria takes your hands in hers.
"Petruccio thinks you are wonderful and you have certainly done a number on our Ezio!" She smiled as both you and Ezio violently blush, "as far at I'm concerned, you are already a part of this family."
You look around the table and see everyone's beaming faces. Tears started to pour down your face and you give them all the biggest smile you can muster. For the first time in a long while you feel loved. Better yet, Ezio places his hand on your shoulder and smiles encouragingly at you as he put his arm around you and pulls you towards him. You are glad that nobody can see your bright red face.

So hopefully that was okay, I tried to add a bit more of a relationship between you in this chapter but I will definitely work on it more next chapter!
