Sorry guys, it's been a bit boring but it's going to get a lot more interesting! To make up for the really short last chapter I'll try to make this chapter a little longer, thanks for sticking with the story for this long! So without further ado...
--------
Ferdinand stayed in your room all night. You fell asleep with his eyes gently gazing at your face and woke to him shaking you gently.
"Hey, (Y/N). Wake up, I want to take you somewhere!" His eyes gleam with childish excitement. You groan and sit up, rubbing your eyes and returning his smile with a false one of your own. If we are alone it will be easier to get away to warn Ezio. It's still early in the morning so I can probably make it to them before the guards take them away.
"Mmmmmmm... Where are we going?" You say around a yawn. You didn't get much sleep last night due to your planning and panicking.
"It's a surprise but I know you'll like it." He smiles at you and stands up. He turns his back to you and faces the door.
"You should get changed into something nice, and it looks like it might be cold out this morning so you may need a coat." He sounds cheerful, if only I didn't have to use him. I guess I kind of have a soft spot for him.
"Are you going to hurry up and get changed or do I have to get a maid?" He asks irritably over his shoulder. You stand up and go to your wardrobe. You pick out a long, flowing, (F/C) dress and put it on. You glance back to make sure he isn't looking and you slide 5 throwing knives into a holder around your right thigh. A dagger slips into your black boots and you strap a short sword to your hip, hidden by the small petticoat of your dress. You add black gloves and run a brush through your hair a few times.
"Done." You say, seeing Ferdinand turn in your mirror. He looks at you and smiles.
"You still carry around all those weapons? Should have guessed." He chuckles.
"It never hurts to be prepared, this way I don't look suspicious but I can still protect myself."
"You don't need to protect yourself when I'm here." Ferdinand steps towards you and brushes a strand of hair from your face. He leans towards you but you pull away, blushing.
"We should go." You state, piling your hair into a loose bun and securing it with pins and a (F/C) ribbon. On the way out of your room you snatch up the bottle of sleeping tonic you use and place it in a concealed pocked down the chest of the dress. Ferdinand doesn't notice it at all. The two of you walk downstairs and out of the door, mounting horses and riding out the courtyard. You follow Ferdinand, staring at his back and mentally calculating your attack plan.~~~~~time skip~~~~~
"Here." Ferdinand says, leading you to a small, secluded area.
"It's beautiful!" You plaster on a fake smile and run your hands over the flowers dangling from the overhead beams. Golden sunlight streams through the beams and plants, illuminating the beautiful area. There is a small fountain by one wall and a bench by the other. You look to the ground and see a blanket. Did he really set up a picnic?
He sits down on the blanket and you go to him. He pulls out a bottle of red wine and two glasses. Bingo. You smile and turn around, pretending to be interested in the flowers. Pft! Like I would ever be into flowers! You take out your expensive earring and nonchalantly drop it on the floor. You then sit down with him as he uncorks the bottle.
"Maybe a little wine to get your mind off of things?" He asks, pouring you a glass regardless.
You smile at him and push a loose strand of hair from your face, lingering over your ear. You feign concern and panic.
"My earring! It's not on my ear anymore. I knew I had it before we came in here, it must be here somewhere." He smiles at you with kind eyes and your heart drops. Can I really do this to him?.... Yes, I can and I will. You strengthen your resolve and as he turns to search for your "lost" earring, you tip the sleeping elixir into his glass. The whole bottle that lasts you about 2 weeks. I'm sorry. You mentally apologise. But I have to do this.
"Found it!" Ferdinand turns back around with the earring in hand and places it in your palm.
"Thank you, they were a gift from father." You say as you put the earring back in.
"I propose a toast!" Ferdinand exclaims, holding up his glass of wine. "To long lasting friendship and loyalty, may it never falter!"
You clink your glass with him and smile when deep down all you feel is the pain of betraying your oldest friend even though he could be annoying sometimes. He takes a large gulp and smiles, you take a sip and place the glass down. His eyes start to drop and his arms appear heavier.
"I should have known you would do something like this." He slurred, the penny finally dropping. He smiles one last time before he is knocked out completely.
"I'm sorry my friend, I'll try and find you when it's over." You promise as you turn around and head out of the small garden.
Time to warn them, you glance at the clock on a nearby church, it's already 9am! I don't have long!
---------
Cliffhanger! Can you make it? I think we all know what happens but still, I'll try and make it a tad dramatic. Anyway, hope you liked the chapter and thanks for reading! This chapter was a little longer to make up for last chapter which was a little disappointing. As always, comment or vote and share your opinion. I'm open to constructive criticism and suggestions if you have any!
Thanks for reading and have a nice day!GotThatEzioCharisma
