[Ezio x Reader Fanfic] May the father of understanding guide us

14} The Gallows

The Auditore household is still in a mess when you return for the letter and the chest. There is paper And blood littering the floor. Whose blood is it? Giovanni's? Frederico's? Petruccio's? You shudder thinking about their fate. You shake the thought out of your head and rush up to the study. The upstairs of the house had still been turned over but is nowhere near as messy as the downstairs. You open the secret door and slip inside, taking with you one of the lamps from the study. You set it down on Giovanni's desk and pick up the heavy letter. On the front in Giovanni's scrawled handwriting was the name,
UBERTO ALBERTI (sp?)
Why does that name sound so familiar? You think as you tuck the papers into your trouser pocket. Moving to the back of the room you see a big chest.
Must be where he keeps his Assassin gear. You open the chest and pull out the contents of the chest. An assassins robe, hidden blade set and a letter to each of his children. I guess he knew it was coming, just didn't know they would go after his sons as well...
You sigh and pick up the letters for Ezio and Claudia, leaving the other two behind. The hidden blade you slide onto your wrist, the scroll you look at but can't read so put it with the letters in your pocket. The hidden blade is broken but you have a feeling you will be needing your hands free.
You then turn to the set of heavy robes. They are too inconvenient to carry but I can't leave them here. They are for Ezio so they are much too big for me...oh well, I need to give them to him. You slide the robes on over your own clothes and adjust your weapon placement, making everything accessible. Then you look one last time around the house before leaving to deliver Giovanni's letter to Uberto.

You reach Uberto's house and know on the door three times, pulling up the hood on the robe. The door opens and you see an older man with little hair and a round face.
"Are you Ulberto?" You demand, deepening your voice. The man nods.
"Yes, and you? Who might you be?"
"That doesn't matter! I was told to deliver this to you so you could clear my...my friends' names. They are being charged for treason. They don't have much time!"
"Ah yes, the Auditores? I have been waiting for this document for a while now. Thank you."
You see someone move behind him and back away from the door. With one last look back at Uberto, you turn and head to meet Ezio at the city gate.
