"Well, I guess you're going to Musical Analysis with Jenna, Ty."
"That's fine with me."
"Plus, since you're going to the first class with her, do you mind showing her where the classes are?" Josh asks, looking at his phone.
"It seems like I'm the one showing her around when Mr. Grant specifically said for both of us to show her around."
"Tyler, to be honest, I'd rather have you show me around than Josh."
"Yeah, that's not offensive at all." Josh sarcastically says, continuing to look at his phone.
"Anyway, we'll all meet up at lunch?" Jenna aks.
"Yeah, sure." Josh replies, walking upstairs to the band room.
"He's.. Odd."
"Yes but he's my best friend and I'd prefer for you not to say anything bad about him in front of me."
"I wasn't saying that like a bad thing. I meant he was odd in a good way."
"Oh, sorry for misunderstanding."
"It's okay, I guess we have to go to Musical Analysis now."
"Yeah, let's go." We walk out of Mr. Grants' office and head right, where Musical Analysis is.
As I notice the Musical Analysis room, I see Alex looking at me from down the hall.
"Do you wanna just go the long way to Musical Analysis?"
"What? No, it's right down the hall." Jenna says.
"Yeah but.." Alex starts walking down the hall.
"Oh no.." I look down at the ground.
"Hey, how are you doing, buddy?" Alex asks.
"Who are you?" Jenna asks.
"It's Alex." I mutter.
"Alex?" Jenna looks at him.
"Yeah? What about me? Frankly, we should be talking about where Tyler is going. Are you going to Satan's' lair?"
"It was the Phoenician language, it was harmless."
"Say that when you'll go on a killing spree. Lemma ask, are you going to massacre the whole school or are you going to kill the workers at McDonald's because they got your order wrong?"
I rub my forehead and my neck. The pressure is building around my neck and that's not my hands, it was there just before I put my hands around my neck. I feel like the pressure it wrapping around my throat.
I whimper.
"What is up with you, you demon spawn? Jesus, boys don't cry." He pushes me with his left hand and chuckles.
"Alex, I'd back off." Jenna warns.
"Who are you?! Seriously, I'd stay out of this because I've never seen you here and I'd rather you start your year better than Tyler here."
"No need to raise your voice. I'm scared enough."
"Nice to know you're scared, Tyler but are you angry?" he pushes me again.
Mr. Nolan, my counselor notices the situation, "Alex, do you want to go to Mr. Grants' office?" Mr. Nolan walks down the hall.
"I rather would than Satan's lair. I'll tell you that much."
"Go. Now." Mr. Nolan points to the office.
"Fine, you're no fun."
He walks to the office.
"Are you okay, Tyler?" Mr. Nolan asks.
"I don't know.. I guess I'm just insecure and I.. Care what people think of me."
"Piece of advice, ignore them." Mr. Nolan says.
"I'll keep that in mind."
"Good." Mr. Nolan says and goes back to his office.
The pressure is too hard on me and when it was wrapping around my throat, I couldn't breathe.. I really hope I get though my schizophrenic thoughts.
