Willow

"Hold on," Carmen whispers to me, worry etching her face."Hold on for the love of God."

I fall to the ground, a series of coughs taking over me. I grab the ground as my chest starts to become extremely tight and the wheezing worsens. My head starts to pound, probably from my brain not getting enough oxygen.

"Are you guys ok?" A familiar voice yells. I start to cough harder and I hear footsteps run towards us. "What's wrong?!"

"It's Willow, she's having an asthma attack!" Carmen replies to the mysterious voice. I feel hands on both of my shoulders as someone pushes me up so I'm sitting up right, right before the world starts to blur in front of me.

"Here, stay sitting up, lying down makes it even worse," I feel a hand rubbing my back and turn my head to see Rosemarie, a girl in our class who also has asthma and has attacks like everyday. "Take deep calm breaths and try to stay calm." I do as she says, but it doesn't make much of a difference.

"Did you bring your inhaler with you?" Carmen asks me, nervously shaking her foot. I shake my head and start to focus on breathing again until an inhaler is shoved into my hands.

"Here," Rosemarie makes me take the inhaler. "This is mine, but you can use it since it's an emergency." I do as she says and inhale deeply taking two puffs then focus on breathing again.

"You can stop trying to call 9-1-1, Jordan," I tell him as I start to get my breath back. "The service sucks here, you probably wouldn't have even gotten a hold of them anyways." He obeys what I say and puts his phone away. I turn towards Rosemarie and hug her. "Thank you for pretty much saving my life."

"You would do the exact same thing for me," She smiles then helps me up.

"And thanks Carmen," I smile and give her a hug to. She's tentative to hug me back, like she's afraid she'll cause me to have another asthma attack. "And thanks, Jordan, for trying to get a hold of 9-1-1 in this sucky town." I turn to him lastly and say.

"Um, yeah, sure thing," He mumbles, acting like he heard me even though he wasn't paying attention. I see him staring and follow his gaze to see that it lands on a blushing Rosemarie, but it doesn't last long when his phones starts to ring. He answers it, looking annoyed. "Yes, Mom, I am on my way home. Goodbye!" He shakes his head. "That was my mom, I've gotta go home. See you guys later." We all say a small goodbye as he walks away to his bike.

"Thanks again, Rosemarie. Is there anyway I could possibly repay you?" I turn back towards her and ask.

"Maybe, do you two know Jordan really well?" She asks a wide grin spreading across her face. Carmen and I both nod our heads then she starts to go on. "Do you know if he is currently dating anyone?"

"Yeah, he is dating-" But before Carmen can go any further I pretend stretch and whack her in the face. "Ouch! You bee-zee! Why did you do that?!" She rubs her face and glares at me.

"What Carmen was saying is that he isn't dating anyone, she was thinking about his old girlfriend." I smile nervously, hoping my plan will work. Carmen gives me a quizzical look and I just nod my head at her, hoping she'll play along.

"Why were you wondering?" Carmen asks after a minute of thinking. "Does someone have a crush? Cause we could easily hook you two up!" She looks at me and a wide grin spreads across my face.

"Really? You two would do that for me?" Rosemarie asks her face lighting up.

"Totally! I have your number and I will definitely help you!" I nod.

"You two are the best! Well, I gotta go, talk to you later." Rosemarie jumps up and squeals.

"Well it's the least we could do! You did save her life," Carmen nods. As Rosemarie starts to walk away Carmen grabs me by the shoulder and spins me so that I'm looking at her. "What the hell was that about!?"
